A friend was in Ipoh, so we decided to take our friend out for dinner in Lawan Kuda. We started out early because it will take us about half an hour or more to reach Lawan Kuda if the traffic is smooth.
This picture was taken at about 6.10 pm.
All the way from Ipoh, the drive was smooth with light traffic until just before reaching the RTC Gopeng area.
I suppose it was due to the many cars leaving Ipoh after the long weekend holidays. Since we were almost reaching our destination, we endured the slow moving traffic. It took us almost double the time to reach Lawan Kuda due to the rain and traffic congestion.
The sky cleared at about 7.00 pm.
We took our time to enjoy our dinner. I didn't take any picture because I have posted about this place a few times.
On our way back to Ipoh, a friend mentioned about the pork satay in Kampung Simee. We were keen to try out the satay so we googled to check out the location.

Another fence for joining Good Fences.
We used the Waze app to direct us to the exact location.
It is just beside this Chung Tuck Chinese School Hall.
You won't miss this uncle fanning the bbq stove in front of this corner house.
Time for some photo shots.
We noticed that many ordered the satay through the phone and collect them later when they are ready.
Four plates of satay sauce, no need to share.
We ordered 10 sticks of pork and 10 sticks of chicken satay.
Then we added 5 more sticks of "fun cheong" or pork intestine.
A plate of satay with sliced cucumbers and cut big onions.
Sweet and spicy thick peanut sauce for dipping.
My first stick of chicken satay dipped in peanut sauce.
The satay is selling at RM 0.90 per stick.
If you are interested to try these satay, here is the location:
No. 407, Laluan Simee 5, Kampung Simee, Ipoh.

And no one can ever lay any other real foundation
that one we already have - Jesus Christ.
But there are various kinds of materials that can
be used to build on that foundation.
Some use gold and silver and jewels;
and some build with sticks and hay or even straw!

DeleteOh my... another reason for me to visit Ipoh soon. The sauce looks a bit diluted, but the having intestines satay is a big plus for me.
ReplyDeleteIf only the sauce is a bit thicker.
