We had a dinner appointment with friends one evening and when they came to pick us up from our house, it had started to drizzle. By the time we reached the place where we were to have dinner, it was raining heavily. It was good that there were umbrellas in my friends' car.
Overcast sky the whole day - about 3 pm. |
It is natural to feel hungry on a cold, wet evening. There were not many customers so food was served in a short while. We had the following dishes for 6 people.
Free soup with meat balls - free flow.
Fried tofu with minced meat and dried prawns.
Steamed pork belly with taro (wu tau kau yoke)
The taro or yam melted! Could it be due to over steaming?
These were not all we had, more to come.
Stir fried sambal paku pakis - fern spikes or wild ferns.
Sweet sour steamed fish.
With this dish it is very tempting to take extra rice.
So use every piece of God's armor to resist the enemy whenever he attacks,
and when it is all over, you will still be standing up.
(Ephesians 6:13, The Living Bible-TLB)
comfort food. Just nice for a rainy evening.
