About 2 weeks ago, I accompanied hubby to the bank. At that hour, it is not easy to get parking space for the car. Just in case if he couldn't find one, I will have to wait in the car for him until he finish his banking errands. He did manage to park his car and I waited for him in the bank.
Just took a snapshot of the clock tower while passing by here.
We wanted to go to another soya milk stall but it was closed on that day. So, we settle for Funny Mountain Soya Bean.
It was good that the queue was not long at that time.
There are chairs provided for those eating there or customers can choose to take away.
I ordered a bowl of tofu fa (hot) for myself and hubby chose soya milk (cold).
I enjoyed the tofu fa but was sweating after I have finished eating.
Then I ordered another set to take away to enjoy later in the comfort of my home.
Smooth and silky tofu fa with less sugar syrup.

Wooden-Soled Shoe (I must have missed the info)
These Chinese scales are known as yard-stick balances. These scales use a pan and weights suspended from a beam, which has a scale for weighing in tahils, katis and tens of katis. Scales like these were commonly used in sundry shops for weighing pepper, sugar, flour, spices and so forth.
#1 KAL - a traditional measuring cup made from a coconut shell and used for paddy, rice, flour, salt, sugar and grain. Traditionally 4 kal = 1 cupak, and 4 cupak = 1 gantang or 6 kati. (about 3.5 kg).
#2 LING - a measuring cup made from a coconut shell but smaller than a kal. Traditionally, 4 ling made 1 kal; like the kal, it was used for measuring rice, flour, sugar and grain.

For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you
not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think,
but to think with sober judgment,
each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.

ReplyDeleteLol! This tofu fa is served with sugar syrup so it is delicious and not tasteless at all.
DeleteI've tried tofu different ways and I'm not sure yet which is the best. See ya Nancy.
ReplyDeleteCruisin Paul
Tofu on its own can be tasteless, it needs to have different types of flavour added to make it delicious.

DeleteSo many lovely things in your photos, i can only imagine how they managed to get the measuring devices to be the same size consistently. It takes precision work!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mimi! I think those days, they do not have standardized measurement. It is probably just an estimate measurement.
