After checking into the homestay, we rested and since we have lots of time on our hands, we decided to take a walk in the compound of The Quintet.
Beautiful flowers in the compound of The Quintet.
We then ventured out to the nearby apartments opposite The Quintet.
Petunias in hanging pots outside a shop.
Saw this poster in front of a cafe.
No, we didn't stop to try this.
Chickens in cage in a pet shop.
This cute sugar glider was hanging upside down and it was shivering.
Don't know if it was shivering from cold.
Don't know if it was shivering from cold.
Stopped to quickly take a snapshot of this passing car.
Then we proceed to take the shortcut path to Tanah Rata town. There was a heavy downpour and we stayed fpr a cup of tea at one of the shop while waiting for the rain to subside.
Thank God, we took along our umbrellas. Once the rain subsided, we walked back to our homestay to prepare for our hot pot dinner. The following were some of ingredients for the hot pot brought from the lowland.
Chinese cabbage
Grouper fish slices
Homegrown sweet potato leaves from my garden.
Pork slices.
Homemade yong tau foo: stuffed tofu, tofu puff, bitter gourd, and meat balls. Other ingredients not in the photos include prawns, fish balls, meat balls, etc.
Once the soup started to boil, the raw ingredients can be added to the soup to cook.
Everyone was hungry due to the cold and waiting to dug in. There was surplus food and we kept the extra food for the next day's dinner.
After dinner, the rain stopped and this time, we drove out to town. Since there is nothing much to explore, we went to check out the Mr. DIY store. The night was very cold and I bought a pair of socks to keep my feet warm.
After Mr. DIY store, we drove back to the homestay.
Picture of antique Coca Cola bottles at the homestay.
Antique toy car.
Antique toy van.
This van looks like some of the vans used by the morning or night market vendors. Talking about night, thank God I slept very well the 1st night of my holiday in Cameron Highlands.
Then I lay down and slept in peace and woke up safely,
for the Lord was watching over me.
(Psalm 3:5, The Living Bible-TLB)
So amazing flowers :)

DeleteStrawberry coffee, that is something new to me. Wonder if it tastes nice. I like all the ingredients for the hotpot dinner. The last time i went CH, we stayed at equatorial hotel.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried the strawberry coffee. If I am not mistaken, the Equatorial hotel is now Copthorne Hotel.
DeleteThose flowers are really gorgeous. Strawberry coffee sounds really intriguing.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angie. Don't know whether they are using artificial strawberry flavour or the genuine flavour.
