It was the first Saturday of the month and we were on our way to Sitiawan to attending a friend's wedding. The weather was just nice for travelling. We started from Ipoh at about 11:30 am as hubby needed to meet one of his customers.
Low clouds over us.
As hubby went to meet his customer, I was queuing up for my favourite Kompia biscuits. There were already about 6 to 7 customers before me. We ate some of the freshly baked kompia for lunch before proceeding to the wedding ceremony in a church in Sitiawan.
There were many guests from out of town and most of us were early at the church where we can sit and relax while waiting for the ceremony to start.
The wedding ceremony has started.
We only managed to capture a few shots from a distance.
Exchanging of vows and wedding rings.
Signing of the marriage registry.
The fathers signing as witnesses.
After the ceremony was over, we got a chance to have a group photo taken with the bride and groom and had some light refreshment at the church before leaving for a ride around town. It has been a long time since I last visited Sitiawan and Lumut.
Hubby drove to Lumut.
Not much has changed since our last visit.
We didn't stop our car
Little children enjoying the critters at Aeon Sitiawan.
Took time to refresh ourselves before driving to the restaurant for the wedding dinner.
I only took this photo before the dinner started.
We stopped taking photos when we found they didn't turn out nicely because of insufficient lighting. After this, we have another wedding to attend and this time, the ceremony will be held in Kuala Lumpur.
Without a sound or word, silent in the skies,
their message reaches out to all the world.
The sun lives in the heavens where God placed it and moves out
across the skies as radiant as a bridegroom going to his wedding,
or as joyous as an athlete looking forward to a race!
The sun crosses the heavens from end to end,
and nothing can hide from its heat.
(Psalm 19:3-6, The Living Bible-TLB)

DeleteNice visit to Lumut and Sitiawan. I haven't been there before so must go one day. True, the lighting in wedding dinners are not enough for nice photos. Good! you will be in kl soon. plan to stay a few more days to visit kl?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mun. Most probably will be a 2D1N stay in KL.
DeleteThese places look artistic and colorful.

DeleteWeddings are so lovely. My only reservation about the dinner receptions is that they never start on time hee..hee,,
ReplyDeleteYes, so true. We have to be there early but ended up waiting for the other guests before dinner can start.
DeleteLovely to attend this beautiful ceremony! And it looks as if a beautiful meal was served! I have never been sure exactly where you were, so I appreciated your reference to city names and now I was able to look up your location! I am happy to have a blog friend from Malaysia.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sallie. Greetings from Malaysia!
DeleteThank you, Francisco.
ReplyDeleteI always like weddings
ReplyDeleteWeddings are beautiful events.
DeleteOh no pics of food. Wedding dinners in smaller towns can be impressive even when compared to those in cities.
ReplyDeleteSorry no pics of food because of the insufficient lighting.
DeleteBonito lugar para la boda. Besos.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Teresa.
DeleteBest wishes to the bride and groom! It is traditional here to go straight to the wedding reception or supper or celebration right after the ceremony, so it surprised me that you had time to go exploring before going back for that.
ReplyDeleteOver here, it is not fixed. Usually the ceremony will be held in the morning or afternoon and the supper in the evening especially if it is held in a restaurant. Sometimes there will be lunch in the restaurant immediately after the wedding ceremony, it all depends on the hosts.
DeleteLovely skies!
ReplyDeleteThank you, William.
