Noodle For Breakfast & Taro Rice For Dinner

For this particular morning, we had breakfast in one of the coffee shops in Menglembu.
Hubby ordered this pig's stomach soup with noodle. There was a piece of pork rib, few pieces of pig's stomach and a chicken claw.
I ordered the above ingredients without any noodle from another stall.
Rain water droplets on my Orange Firecrackers flowers.
That evening's dinner was home cooked taro rice with dried prawns.
We each had a plate of yam rice.
And a plate of blanched sweet potato leaves to go with the rice.
Pink sunrise at the park @ 7:20 am
Every now and then I stopped my walk to snap pictures.
 Pink reflection in the water.
We rested 7 days and resumed our morning walk on the 6th day of Chinese New Year.

For all who have entered into God's rest have rested from their labors,
just as God did after creating the world.

Prawn Noodle For Breakfast & Chee Cheong Fun For Dinner

For the past 2 days, the weather has been nice and cool with just a few hours of sun. This morning we get to enjoy nice cool breeze while walking at the park. The Chinese New Year celebration is more or less over for most of us. Many have gone back to work and children have also gone back to school.

Today, I will pick up from where I had stopped for the Chinese New Year celebration. We met up with our friends at the South Point Cafe in Ipoh Garden for breakfast.
There is this stall selling Penang Prawn Mee.
Unsweetened black Coffee and coffee with evaporated milk.
Penang Prawn Noodle
Both hubby and I ordered from the same stall.
Hubby doesn't like hard boiled egg, so I get to eat an extra half egg.

That evening, a friend called to inform us that she will be delivering 1 big packet of chee cheong fun (steamed flat noodle) with some stuffed tofu for our dinner.
Besides the packet of chee cheong fun, I also receved a persimmon.
To enjoy the chee cheong fun, we need to pour the gravy over it.
Hubby and I shared the packet of chee cheong fun.
I only need to sauteed a plate of home grown dwarf long beans with garlic and salt.
A simple dinner for hubby and I.
Yesterday, we heard sound of gushing water. We went out to check and saw water gushing out from the fire hydrant opposite our house. I guess its part of the Waterworks department's maintenance to check the fire hydrant because the water was later turned off and they drove off.

He split open the rocks in the wilderness to give them plenty of water,
as though gushing from a spring.
Streams poured from the rock, flowing like a river!

A Pink Hibiscus From A Yellow Hibiscus Plant!

This morning I had a very pleasant surprise! Something happened to my yellow hibiscus plant. I had this yellow hibiscus plant in my garden for many years and all these years, it has bloomed yellow hibiscus only.
This yellow hibiscus has multi layer petals.
This morning I was astonished to find this pink flowers on a branch of the same yellow hibiscus plant. It has never happened before since I planted the yellow hibiscus which should be more than 7 years ago.
It is really strange but I am happy to see this pink hibiscus. I hope from now on, I will see both yellow and pink flowers from this plant.
This morning I was blessed with abundant long beans harvested from my garden. On the left are snake long beans and the right are the dwarf long beans.

"I am the Vine, you are the branches.
When you're joined with me and I with you,
the relation intimate and organic,
the harvest is sure to be abundant.
Separated, you can't produce a thing.
Anyone who separates from me is deadwood,
gathered up and thrown on the bonfire.
But if you make yourselves at home with me
and my words are at home in you,
you can be sure that whatever you ask
will be listened to and acted upon.
This is how my Father shows who he is -
when you produce grapes,
when  you mature as my disciples.

Roast Chicken Leg & Lotus Root Soup For Lunch, 4th Day CNY 2020

Today is Tuesday and also the 4th day of Chinese New Year 2020. Hubby and I don't know what to eat for breakfast. We ended up buying roast pork and steamed buns to share with a friend at our regular coffee shop.
This is RM10 worth of roast pork, enough for 3 people.
3 steamed buns for 3 people.
Both of us ordered unsweetened black coffee.
After breakfast, I harvested the above snake long beans from my garden.

Elder son has gone back to work and younger son doesn't want any lunch.
So for 2 people, I prepared the following for today's lunch.
 Roasted chicken leg.
(marinated with oyster sauce, soy sauce, honey, salt, Chinese cooking wine)
 Lotus root soup
(boiled with peanuts, red dates, goji berries, carrot, pork ribs)
I think I will need to roast it a little longer to get a nicer and darker colour.
This is my lunch without rice.
I will not be cooking dinner because we have just received an invitation for dinner.

Now God gives us many kinds of special abilities,
but it is the same Holy Spirit who is the source of them all.
There are different kinds of service to God,
but it is the same Lord we are serving.

Home Cooked Dinner For 1st Day Of Chinese New Year 2020

I don't know about other places but here in Ipoh, it is terribly hot. For the past few days, I hardly ventured out of my house unnecessarily. The air conditioners in our rooms are working overtime and the fans are full blast throughout the day.
The heat is causing the leaves of my Sunset Bells to turn yellowish.
*     *     *     *     *
Even in this heat, I still cooked and sweated in my kitchen. Free suana bath for me. I am grateful for the little fan in my kitchen. We had the following dishes for dinner on the 1st day of CNY 2020.
Steamed mid-portion of a big Snapper Fish brought back by elder son.
Very seldom do we get to enjoy really fresh fish.
Deep fried fish paste+diced prawns+minced meat+chopped shallots balls. So tasty that we didn't need any dipping sauce.
Leftover of the stewed chicken claws with napa cabbage and mushrooms. When left overnight, it tasted more flavourful.
Simple sauteed home grown long beans (dwarf long beans+snake long beans) with garlic.
Happy Chinese New Year!
May this year brings you more opportunities and success.
May your days be filled with love, joy, and peace.

But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives he will produce
this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness,
goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control;

Lunch On 1st Day of Chinese New Year 2020

Woke up early on the 1st day of Chinese New Year 2020. This year our friends came over to join us for breakfast. While waiting for our friends, I quickly snapped these sunrise shots. My concern is to cook the 2 main meals, i.e. lunch and dinner for the family. Since we didn't go anywhere, I have the time to post and blog hop.
 Sunrise at 7:55 am.
While waiting, I also watered my plants.
Can you see the black spots? They are birds.
Most of the coffee shops were closed.
The ones that were opened enjoyed roaring business.

Home cooked lunch - 1st day of CNY 2020.
Blanched broccoli, drizzled with garlic oil, soy sauce and oyster sauce.
Stewed chicken claws with dried mushrooms and napa cabbages.
Leftover steamed chicken from the reunion dinner.
I sprinkled some salt over the chicken before placing them in the fridge.
Now after re-heating the chicken, it tasted like salted chicken.

For we speak as messengers from God,
trusted by him to tell the truth;
we change his message not one bit
to suit the taste of those who hear it; for we serve God alone,
who examines our hearts' deepest thoughts.

do not swear either by heaven or earth or anything else;
just say a simple yes or no so that you will not sin
and be condemned for it.
