Home Made Gui Ling Gao - Chinese Herbal Jelly

Yesterday morning (79th day MCO), I woke up to the sound of pitter patter of the falling rain on my front porch awning.
By 7:00 am, the rain stopped.
 Lovely sunrise at 7:10 am.
Starting off on our morning walk at 7:20 am.
Reached home after morning walk at 7:50 am.

Breakfast
I took out the 4 bbq steamed buns given by a friend from the fridge. To warm up the buns, I re-steamed them for breakfast.
Steamed bbq buns and Nescafe for our breakfast.

Mid-morning, when I was de-cluttering my kitchen table top, I came across a packet of Gui Ling Gao powder. That was when I decided to make some herbal jelly.
Gui Ling Gao or Chinese Black Herbal Jelly
These chilled herbal jelly is soothing to the throat.

For lunch, I re-baked 2 croissants bought from the supermarket. I slit the croissants lengthwise to spread pineapple jam along the slit. Hubby and I had croissants with pineapple jam for lunch. (Sorry, no photo to show).

Mid-afternoon
I have shown the above picture in an earlier post. I bought the above ice-creams from the supermarket, kept them in the freezer and totally forgotten about them. Hubby remembered and took out the 2 vanilla cornetto (blue wrapper).
Hubby handed 1 vanilla cornetto to me.
Love the chunky nuts and crunchy waffle cone.

Dinner
I don't feel like eating rice so I cooked noodle for dinner.
Ingredients for my home cooked noodle (wet version):
  • Stir fry chopped garlic in a little oil, then add fresh mushrooms slices, stuffed beancurd slices and stir fry.
  • Add in cut napa cabbage and add in water (just enough to make a small amount of soup base) and let the water boil.
  • Then add in the dried noodle and let it cook till the cabbage and noodle softened.
  • Add in the prawns (pre-marinated with a little sugar), oyster sauce and salt to taste.
  • Add the spring onions and the 2 eggs. Cover the 2 eggs with the noodle, off the fire and lightly stir.
  • You can dish out the noodle into a big bowl or into individual serving bowls.
  • The noodle is best eaten with the following condiments:
Condiments: Dry spicy sambal and bird's eye chilies in soy sauce or sambal chili belacan if available.
Yellow Hibiscus with multi layer petals from my garden.

God - the one who made all things
and for whose glory all things exist -
wanted many people to be his children and share his glory.
So he did what he needed to do.
He made perfect the one who leads those people to salvation.
He made Jesus a perfect Savior through his suffering.
(Hebrews 2:10, Easy-to-Read Version-ERV)

  20. Bao is like bread, very easy and convenient to eat. Croissants with your self made pineapple jam sounds so tasty. I love to eat Cornetto ice cream too because of the various components. Prawns! Another of my favorite so your dinner is very tasty! Did your husband eat this noodles dinner together with you, share share? Or did he eat some other food?
