We woke up early and were out of our house for the morning walk at about 6:30 am.
Grateful for the bright light that brightens up the streets for us.
That is hubby walking ahead of me while I was taking some shadow shots.
We each had a metal stick. The stray dogs are smart. When they see us holding stick, they stay away.
Testing out the pathway that nobody seems to be using. For the time being, we prefer to walk where there is less crowd.

Breakfast with friends.
We took our friends to Restoran 1010 for Hor Hee noodles. We couldn't get a table for 4 people so we have to take 2 small tables.
I love to add bird's eye chilies to my noodle.
~~~~~
I received a call from a friend to collect some durians from her house.
These are hill durians which her husband bought and kept some for us.
The colour of the durian flesh may be pale but the taste is good.
Home cooked dinner
I made stuffed eggplant (white brinjals) and white bitter gourds with minced pork mixed with fish paste.
I used the excess minced pork + fish paste mixture to make patties.
Steamed white eggplant or white brinjals.
Serve it with dried prawn sambal.
I cooked 2 home made salted eggs. These 2 are from the 2nd batch home made salted eggs. One egg turned out very nicely. The 2nd one didn't look good, probably the egg was not fresh. Taste wise, it was not as nice as the other good egg.
For dinner, I boiled rice porridge. We finished the steamed eggplant and salted eggs.
Kept most of stuffed eggplants, stuffed bitter gourd and patties for next day's dinner.
I like stuffed eggplant...nice to go with sweet sauce/chilli sauce as served in yong tau foo stalls.
ReplyDeleteI like all the different types of stuffed veggie.
ReplyDeleteKept the leftover for next day.
DeleteLooks lovely the food.
ReplyDeleteGlad you take a stick with you, we don't seem to have stray dogs here unless one is lost.
Take care.
We have some stray dogs in our area.
Dimi...
Thank you, DIMI. Have a wonderful day and stay safe too.
DeleteI am fond of eggplant. I mostly like it baked.
ReplyDeleteThat is another great way to cook eggplant.
DeleteDo the dogs attack people without sticks? Where did you buy the metal stick? So sad to know the dogs must have been beaten badly by the sticks before to know that they need to stay away from the sticks.
ReplyDeleteSome dogs might attack but most will just bark and attempt to come near. Dogs are smart. Our metal sticks are actually unwanted old golf sticks that hubby improvised as walking sticks.
DeleteOh, very good to reuse the golf sticks as walking sticks.
DeleteThe hor her noodles look delicious! Are those you tiao inside the bowl of noodles?
ReplyDeleteYes, those are you tiao.
DeleteWow! I love your homemade ytf, especially the brinjals. I can just eat the steamed brinjals plain just like that without the sambal. So tasty! I guess the pale salted eggs are not salty so you can finished eating them. They are not that salty, right?
ReplyDeleteActually the pale salted egg is more salty than the red yolk one.
DeleteOh, that's surprising. I would have thought pale is not that salty.
Delete...your breakfast looks yummy!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tom.
ReplyDeleteThe air is fresh and cool and no need to worry about social distancing.
DeleteMore interesting and different food from what I eat
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jo-Anne.
DeleteHow glad i am that i checked again, i thought i had already commented, but did not.
ReplyDeleteThat's good to know that the dogs stay away when they see you can defend yourself. Most dogs do not attack, but you cannot be too careful.
Wonderful meals!
You are right, most dogs do not simply attack us but you will never know in case one will decide to do so. Happy weekend.
DeleteEl paseo me parece bonito. Me dan miedo los perros callejeros. Besos.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Teresa.
DeleteI like that big dollop of fried garlic in the hor hee. A big strange it has yau char kwai on top?
ReplyDeleteVery nice dinner spread indeed.
I don't mind the yau char kwai as long as the soup is flavourful.
DeleteI like all the food, the stuffed ytf, ths salted eggs and the patties. I miss eating salted eggs, must go get my salted eggs fix soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Libby. I love salted egg too.
