After we had finished our early morning walk, we bought 3 packets of fried rice vermicelli (Indian style) from the roadside stall. Then we walked to our regular coffee shop, gave 1 packet to our friend. We ordered our coffee and ate the fried vermicelli there.
We love the sweet and spicy sambal and we requested for extra sambal.
Walking home, I stopped to take a snapshot of this dark pink hibiscus by the roadside.
In my garden, I used plastic to wrap the figs. I chose plastic because it is easier to see when the figs are ripe for picking.
This is the only way I can think of to protect the figs from the birds.

Lunch with friends.
We wanted to introduce this porridge to our friend and her hubby. We went to pick them from their house and brought them to Restoran Kar Heng, Ipoh.
We ordered 4 bowls of mixed pork porridge minus the blood curd. They forgot and included the blood curd. We didn't make a fuss, just put them aside. We like the crispy fried intestine.
We ordered fried fish for sharing.
We also ordered stewed/steamed fish for sharing.
~~~~~
Home cooked dinner.
I decided to cooked prawns and pineapple curry using a ready made paste.
This time, I bought this A1 instant curry paste to try.
I love this appetizing prawns and pineapple curry.
That afternoon, I noticed that this yellow hibiscus had a faded yellow colour which is very unusual.
Lovely sunrise shots taken at the lake park about 2 weeks ago.
6:40 am
Can you see the moon?
The moon can still be seen in this pic.
Sunrise at 7:06 am.
Taken from where we were seated at the coffee shop.
Took this snapshot of the sun on the Kledang Hill on our walk home.
Linking to Floral Bliss & Skywatch Friday.
Let the waves clap their hands in glee
and the hills sing out their songs of joy before the Lord,
for he is coming to judge the world with perfect justice.
You have found the best eats! Those early morning shots are beautiful, Nancy.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angie.
DeleteI hope they don't reuse your uneaten blood curds. Nowadays we never know unless we know the sellers personally and trust them. Do you know the sellers personally?
ReplyDeleteNo, we don't. Let's hope not.
DeleteLove your prawns and pineapple curry. Very appetising dinner. Can eat many bowls of rice. Did you finish all the curry gravy as well?
ReplyDeleteYes, to the last drop. I will use bread to soak up all the gravy. Yums!
DeleteYes, the birds won't be able to get to your figs after u have wrapped them this way. Beautiful hibiscus flowers. Deep red and the pale yellow almost to white. Is that the moon or some other planet?
ReplyDeleteI suppose that is the moon.
DeleteHello Nancy,
ReplyDeleteYour sky series are beautiful. I hope the birds do not eat your figs.
The flowers are beautiful. Take care and stay safe! Enjoy your day, have a great weekend.
I hope the plastic wrappings would keep the birds away from the figs. Happy weekend and thank you for hosting.
Deletethe curry gravy looks so thick! good to eat with rice or roti!
ReplyDeleteYes, very nice with rice and roti.
Thank you, Elke. Happy weekend.
DeleteHope the figs continue to grow well.
ReplyDeleteThe sky is good as always, my late dad used to ask me to describe the sky to him - he was legally blind from the age of 65.
Thank you, Margaret. Your late dad is blessed to have you to describe the sky to him and I am sure he appreciated you for being there for him.
DeleteIt has been weeks since I went to mamak store and had fried vermicelli. Love the photos of the sky.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rose.
Deletelove fish...yummy...
ReplyDeletedark pink hibiscus is attractive....pretty
Thank you, Tanza.
DeleteSomething happened with my comment so I am starting over. I love the imagery of the waves clapping and the hills singing. I'd love to try some fried intestine which is something that I have never eaten. I love your skies and flowers. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Yogi. Have a great weekend too.
DeleteWonderful places 😊 thanks for your sharing 😊
ReplyDeleteThank you and have a wonderful weekend.
DeleteI'm having my coffee right now. I do want some of all that food though. Yummy.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day and weekend, Nancy. ♥
Thank you, Sandee. Have a fabulous weekend too.
DeleteFantastic sunrises Nancy. The prawn curry looks delicious and I would love it too. Birds are nice but oh boy how much trouble they cause you! Good idea to protect them with plastic bags - I would need hundreds of them to protect my cherries :)) Happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Riitta. I only have a few figs so I can't afford to have the birds eating them. If I have lots, I will share with the birds. Lol! Happy weekend too.
DeletePiękny wschód słońca i pyszne jedzenie super :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lucyna.
DeleteYou have a great camera.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Gigi.
DeleteThat food looks scrumptious. Interesting idea using the plastic to keep the birds away - as long as it doesn't adversely affect the fruit, why not?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Susie. I have thought of different ways to wrap the figs and so far this one works.
DeleteWhy did you wrap the figs in plastic? To keep the bugs off?
ReplyDeleteTo prevent the birds eating the figs.
DeleteSometimes when a restaurant makes a mistake in an order, it is because they are so busy and rushed, so i usually do not say anything, either, just set it aside.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very interesting hibiscus color, and beautiful sky shots!
Thank you, Mimi that you are gracious and understanding. Have a great weekend and stay safe.
DeleteGreat sky shots and I love the hibiscus.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda.
DeleteHope the figs are now well-protected till ready to harvest.
ReplyDeleteOoh this paste is good too huh? I've tried the meat one so far. Seems good but my maid added tons of water trying to tone down the spiciness so I can't really tell.
After wrapping the figs in plastic, my figs are well protected. So far managed to harvest 3 figs in good condition. There is another curry paste which I have not tried.
DeleteBeautiful skies and I am always fascinated by your meals! Keep well and have a good week, Diane
ReplyDeleteThank you, Diane. Keep well and stay safe.
DeleteWe have A1 brand curry paste in our supermarket too.
ReplyDeleteThese days we can find many types of curry paste in the supermarket.
DeleteLos higos se ven muy bien y el amanecer precioso. Besos.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Teresa.
