Dinner At San Low Seafood Restaurant, Johor

After having collected the Nyonya chang (dumplings) and pineapple tarts, we continued our journey to Johor.

Not much traffic on the highway.
When we reached Johor, our hosts were waiting to take us out for dinner. Not wanting to eat rice, our hosts ordered the following.
Wat Tan Hor - Flat rice noodle in thick egg gravy.
The locals called this Smack Noodle (fried rice vermicelli).
Pea sprouts or pea shoots stir fried with garlic.
Deep fried baby squids.
Teochew sweet taro paste with ginkgo nuts and pumpkin (Or Nee).
Grilled fish cake (Otak-otak).
This is the place we had our first dinner in Johor.
It was a dark, rainy evening.
~~~~~
Back home in my garden.
After a long absence, a Cleome plant came out of the ground.
It grew and bloomed its first Pink Cleome flower (spider flower).
Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed
- not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence -
continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling.
for it is God who works in you to will and
to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.
(Philippians 2:12-13, New International Version-NIV)
  4. Bean sprouts with garlic sound so delicious, Pretty shot of the spider plant. In Finland it is an annual, I have once grown white ones.
    Do you have no problem driving to Johor? Residents of Selangor are not allowed to drive inter-district, let alone inter-state.
