This was a Saturday. Snapshots taken on our morning walk.
Dawn at 6:50am
7:15am
Sunrise at 7:20am
Sunrise at 7:22am
Parasitic plants growing on the tree. Can hear the birds chirping and singing but they were too small to be seen.

Breakfast bought from 2 different coffee shops, located back to back.
Left: Wat tan hor (noodle with egg gravy) for hubby.
Right: Curry noodle with stuffed ingredients for me and 3 pieces of "pulut udang" which is glutinous rice with dried shrimp and coconut filling wrapped with banana leaf.
This is how the "pulut udang' or glutinous rice with dried shrimp and coconut filling looks like without the banana leaf wrapping.
Angled luffa, snake beans and green brinjals harvested from my garden.
~~~~~
Lunch
Leftover porridge from the previous day's dinner.
We love ginger strips with our rice porridge.
This time have to do without chopped spring onions.
About 1:30pm, I received a call from my friend informing that the durian supplier has reached her house.
These are hill durians.
I ordered 20 kilos of durians.
All ready packed in pastic bags.
Selling at RM5 per kilo.
They may not look like the branded durians but I think hill durians taste much better than most branded durians. Plus, the price is so much cheaper than branded durians.
I love durians and one of my favourite is the hill durians. I opened up all the durians. placed them into plastic containers. They will go into the freezer. Once thawed, they can be eaten and they taste like durian ice cream. Hubby and I had a durian feast that afternoon and we have to skip dinner that evening.
Dawn at 06:50 am is a great shot! I love it, also rice porridge looks really fingerlickingly delicious.
ReplyDeleteThank you and have a lovely day.
DeleteGreat harvest, Nancy! Wish I could taste some of your durians :-))
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angie. Durians and other seasonal fruits are plentiful now.
DeleteI'd go for the curry noodles, look nicer than the wat tan hor. Oooo...the pulut udang looks good. Can't get that here - udang kering too expensive, I suppose. Durians? No, thank you. LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteI love pulut udang and am glad that we have 2 stalls selling this but they do not open every day.
DeleteYour produce is looking good that you grew.
ReplyDeleteDurians are also grown in northern Australia but I understand they are not the best smell but the fruit if very good for you.
Thank you, Margaret. Durian is one fruit that some love it and some just hate it. Those who love it love the smell but those who hate it the smell is yucks!
Deletethe curry noodles look sumptuous with stuffed ingredients! hearty meal!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nux. Have a wonderful day.
DeleteI will go for the pulut udang in your breakfast! The glutinous rice looks so thick, soft and bit chewy. Yums! Wow! Lusting after your greens harvest. So much! Did you give part of it to your neighbour? I agree that hill durian is really good value for money. I will eat them too. Any durian, I will sapu cos I love to eat durian. Super yums!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mun. I shared some of my garden produce with my neighbour. I will also sapu any durian available.
DeleteWow, There are lots of durian! I love durian too. But for this current season, I only ate 2-4 pcs because we only bought 2 durians.
ReplyDeleteFor this season, I have eaten more than enough durians.
DeleteThose are very fat and cute pulut udangs.
ReplyDeleteWhile I have been having durian, I miss seeing them in the shell. Mine are all prepacked and sort of... sterile and boring.
Thank you, Stacy. The prepacked durians save you the trouble of opening the durian shells. But I do enjoy the opening and prying of the shells of durians.
DeleteYou really make me want to come over and try your food!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have such exciting things! Durians? I live behind a rock! 20 kilos, too, huhhh! What do they taste like? Sweet, I reckon?
The world is an awesome place. so many different things nature brings to us, it´s.... WOW.
It is difficult to describe durians. It has many flavours, sometimes sweet, sometimes slightly bitter, and some are tasteless, etc. You will have to taste it youself to experience what a durian taste like. Either you will love it or you will hate it.
DeleteI like this type of pulut. Yum yum.
ReplyDeleteLong time did not go for morning walk. My man is lazy lately. He doesn't wake me up for morning walk for a week now. Lol.
We have been walking every morning except one morning when it rained. Sometimes, I feel lazy too.
DeleteWaaaahhh......I will eat any type of durian even if it is hill durian or durian kampung. Really craving for it now and perhaps I shall buy online!
ReplyDeleteYes, same with me........any durian will do for me.
DeleteGreat shots Nancy:) greetings from Turkey ...
ReplyDeleteThank you and have a great day.
Delete...the harvest from your garden looks great!
Thank you, Sandee. Have a fabulous day.
DeleteWhat a bountiful harvest from your garden. I love to listen to birds chirping and singing but of course not when I am sleeping lol.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Libby. I don't mind being awaken in the morning by birds chirping or singing because I am an early riser.
DeleteNancy, your sunrise images are very beautiful, I am struck by how copious your breakfasts are, around here they are less abundant: milk, coffee, toast, butter and jams.
ReplyDeleteI read that durian has a very unpleasant smell, is that right?
Kisses from Argentina
Thank you, Norma2. It all depends. To durian lovers, the smell is wonderful but to the durian haters, it can be unbearable. Lol!
ReplyDeleteThank you, JP.
DeleteYou have just given me a good idea to order Wat Tan Hor for my dinner tonight. I will ask them to add 2 eggs instead. Yums!
ReplyDeleteI always like to eat wild and kampung durians for a change. Just like your Hill Durians, they would taste better than branded ones.
Hubby likes wat tan hor. At one time it was my favourite noodle. I am a fan of any type of durians.
DeleteLove your sky photos, and you make me wish i could taste a durian, i am betting it is very good!
