Home Cooked Teochew Porridge For Dinner

This was on a Wednesday. This was the morning sky that greeted us.

Sunrise at 7:18am
Hubby stopped to order 2 sets of spicy economy noodle with sambal chicken drumsticks at the Indian roadside stall to be collected on the way back.
2 sets at RM6 per set.
We also bought 2 sponge cakes at RM8 each (old price was RM6).
The excuse for the RM2 increase was the price of eggs has gone up.
Original flavour on the left and pandan flavour on the right.
I gave the original flavour to my neighbour.
We had sponge cake for lunch.

Home cooked dinner.
Fried fish.
We refer to this as "tofu fish". I don't know what it is in English.
Hubby is not a fan of fish, so I added fried back smoked bacon and 2 eggs.
Sauteed home grown snake beans with dried shrimps.
Our dinner with plain rice porridge on a hot and sweating evening.
I found this butterfly on the louvered window one evening. Due to the lighting, I couldn't get a clear shot of the butterfly.
After these snapshots, I opened the louvered windows to allow it to fly out.
Baby grasshopper in my garden.

For you are still only baby Christians,
controlled by your own desires, not God's.
When you are jealous of one another and
divide up into quarreling groups,
doesn't that prove you are still babies, wanting your own way?
In fact, you are acting like people who don't belong to the Lord at all.
(1 Corinthians 3:3, The Living Bible-TLB)

We´ll make goulash today, Hubby bought "good" Italian wine for it.
As breakfast we had cornflakes with milk, bummer, how exiting ;-)

    1. Oh, I am sorry. The chicken is not that cheap. The noodle alone is RM2, add another RM4 for the chicken drumstick. So 1 set is RM6, 2 sets will be RM12.

    2. Oh! And I thought it was RM6.00 for two sets. Chicken looked really good though. I wouldn't be able to resist either.

  11. Hi Nancy! :) Spongecake for lunch sounds fine to me! :) I had to look up "pandan", I read it's like a vanilla/coconut flavour, is that right? It looks really good! Oh the price of eggs...I don't understand it. The chickens are still producing like they have been, there is no egg shortage, but they've gone up a few dollars here too...I have to get myself some chickens!!

    1. Thank you, Rain. I also don't know why they increase the price of eggs and other things. Could be due to the lockdown.
