Curry Noodle, Nyonya Kuih, Dim Sum & Sweet Drink

Time really flies even during pandemic. There is no chance to feel bored as I have activities such as gardening, blogging, cooking, housework, and etc. to keep me busy.

Morning sky at 7am.
Sunrise and hills.
Clouds reflecting the sunlight 7:08am.

Sunday breakfast.
After morning walk, we went out to town to buy breakfast.
We bought "Ma Jie" curry noodles from Restoran Yee Lock.
Dry curry version (left) for hubby and soup version (right) for me.
I also bought the above Nyonya kuih.
Neighbour boiled sweet drink with monk fruit (luo han guo), dried longan and white fungus and gave us some.
My neighbour bought fish balls (above) and glutinous rice in lotus leaf (below) for us. So, we ate Nyonya kuih, fish balls and tong sui for lunch.
We kept the above glutinous rice in lotus leaf for dinner.
Steam to heat up and good to eat.

May there be peace within your walls.
May all go well within your houses.

  1. I like the kuih and tong Sui. Weather is crazy, so good to cook something to cool your body.

    1. You are right. One day hot and humid, next day rains whole day.

  2. I love all that you had for breakfast especially the nyonya kuih. We do have good angku here now, last time so horrible...but the other kuihs are such a waste of time and money. Have to go to Kuching to get really good ones.

The glutinous rice in lotus leaf sure is a complete meal on its own, must be so filling! The fish balls look good too. What a nice neighbour you have!

    1. True, some angku are nice. Some have thick hard skin and will end up in the trash.

  8. Lovely mural. Funny how in a pandemic and lockdowns we still never get everything done that we planned.

  10. Good morning Nancy. My wife wanted me to ask you, do you have a large meal throughout the day or just one great meal?

    1. Most of the days, we will have heavy breakfast and not so heavy dinner. Lunch is usually light.

  15. The food looks lovely as always, and I like the pretty skies! :) I found I didn't get bored in lockdown either - the kids did, but with trying to work from home and entertain the kids and help them with their online learning there was always something to do, haha!

Hope you had a great weekend :) We managed to enjoy some time outdoors despite the colder than usual spring weather!

  16. So good to hear that you have many constructive activities to keep you from feeling bored. Thumbs up! 👍 I don't think I have seen food in your blog that I don't like. All the food that you eat tempts me so much. I prefer dry curry Mee. Love the lotus glutinous rice and your home cooked tong sui. Nice food exchange with your neighbour. Do you feel ready to dine in at eateries yet? Many people are dining in already.
