This was 2 Sundays ago. We woke up a bit late and decided to cancel our morning walk.
Morning sky at 7:35am. Another cloudy day.
We drove out to town to buy breakfast.
Saw that the coffee shop allowed dine-in and the tables were well spaced. Since we were early, there were very few customers dining in. Feeling comfortable, we decided to dine-in. We checked in and have to show proof that we are fully vaccinated. So, this is our 2nd dine-in experience for us.
I ordered Jawa Mee cooked by an Indonesia woman.
This is my favourite mee jawa.
Hubby ordered shredded chicken noodle (kai si hor fun). He noticed that instead of the old man, a younger man has taken over the stall. We were told that the former has retired but we suspected that he could have moved somewhere else. So for the time being, we will have to go back to our 2nd best kai si hor fun in town.
We shared this cup of kopi-C.
After finishing our breakfast, we went to the Jawa Mee stall to buy takeaway for lunch and dinner. I bought 1 packet of nasi lemak (blue rice), 1 chicken rendang, 2 fried drumsticks and 2 curry puffs.
I won't be buying the curry puffs again, very disappointing.
Hubby and I shared this packet of nasi lemak.
We added some of the rendang gravy to the nasi lemak.
We each had 1 drumstick with the nasi lemak.
We kept the chicken rendang for dinner.

Yes, that is the requirement to dine-in, entrance to shopping mall and etc.

DeleteMemory lane can be a good or a sad place. It is possible the older gentleman who ran the stall retired, i know cooking for a living is hard work and maybe he just got tired.

They are very generous with the ingredients for mee jawa. Nasi lemak taste good too.
DeleteI was just leaving a comment when I heard a “bang” and then my electricity went out. I stepped outside to see if it was just me, or everyone on the block. My next door neighbor was outside and he told me he had called the electric company and reported the outage. They said they would send someone out to check the problem. My electricity finally came back on at 11:17 this morning. It had been out since shortly before 5:00 p.m. last night, around 19 hours. My apologies if you thought I had forgotten or was ignoring you.

Good to know that the electricity came back on. It must be inconvenient without electricity for 19 hours. If it happened here at this time, we will be spending sleepless night. The weather is so hot here that we need the air con to be able to sleep well.
