We started our morning walk early. No sign of sunrise, probably another cloudy day.
Breaking of dawn at 6:50am.
After morning, we drove to Menglembu to buy breakfast because hubby wanted to eat yellow glutinous rice with chicken curry.
We were told that the yellow or turmeric glutinous rice (nasi kunyit) was sold out. Hubby settled for the savoury glutinous rice and the chicken curry and was charged only RM5.
Hubby's breakfast.
We drove back to our own area and I bought the above Lui Cha Pan Mee aka Thunder Tea Pan Mee. The green soup is made from blended herbs e.g. basil and etc.
I added the lui cha soup and ingredient to the noodle.
I enjoy this noodle but its a no, no for hubby.
I harvested the above green brinjals and okra to add to the fish curry for dinner.
I spotted this big grasshopper clinging onto this green brinjal.
On another morning I saw this clinging onto the pole I used to support the brinjal plant.
I think it is the same one that was clinging onto the brinjal.
This is the 2nd portion of the fish curry that I ordered for the previous day dinner. I added in the brinjals and okra.
Remaining lettuce with roasted sesame dressing.
Delicious dinner for 2 people.
It is now about 4 months old and it has grown very tall and the okras getting smaller. I shortened the okra plant. New branches appeared sideways and are now bearing okras.
Again I saw the grasshopper feeding on the okra leaf.
I zoomed in for a closer look.
It looks like an alien from outer space.

So early have chicken curry for breakfast. Not for me. Haha.

ReplyDeleteI was able to spot it because it moved. If it hadn't moved, I wouldn't know that it was there.
DeleteI had a dinner called " Shangai Noodles " and it had the same noodles with shrimp, chicken & beef. It was very good but it filling. Because there was so much, I'm having the rest for lunch today.
ReplyDeleteCruisin Paul
Some servings are huge. I hope you enjoyed the noodles.

DeleteThat grasshopper is gigantic! Love your brinjal okra curry. I just ate brinjal okra curry too to finish up the cheese curry gravy by adding veges. Cannot go wrong with brinjal and okras in curry gravy. What is your plan for that giant grasshopper?
ReplyDeleteSince it is not doing much damage to my plant, I will just leave it be.
DeleteGood to hear that! 👍Be kind to all GOD's creatures.
DeleteYes, it can squat as long as it likes.
DeleteThe soup looks extremly yummy!!! Hmmm, and Sesame.
ReplyDeleteI think I will have to get used to your grasshopper, do I? ;-)
Do you know Biene Maja? A children´s TV-show, they had a grasshopper called "Flip". I had to ask Ingo and he knew it in an instant, LOL
Thank you, Iris. I have not seen the TV show but I think I would enjoy it.
