Steamed Chicken With Dang Gui, Red Dates & Goji Berries

After our morning walk, hubby went out to buy his breakfast.

He bought steamed rice roll with yam bean filling (chee cheong fun). He added fish cake, fish ball and he opted for curry gravy instead of mushroom gravy.
I stayed home to make coffee and re-heated 2 curry puffs in the oven for myself.
Remaining strawberry apples and kiwi fruits for lunch.
The tiny apples were very crunchy and sweet.

Home cooked dinner.
Steamed chicken, angled luffa and steamed rice.
Steamed half a chicken (seasoned with some salt) with red dates, goji berries and ginger slices.
Home grown angled luffas with dried shrimps.
Saw this pair of garden snails while on our morning walk.

When the Lamb broke the third seal,
I heard the third living being say, "Come!"
I looked up and saw a black horse and
its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand.

  1. Love your homecooked meal. Seldom make steamed chicken at home. Just today I bought a kampung chicken and cook soup with it.

  2. I never have heard of strawberry apples! Hmmm, sounds yummy.
Your place must be so wonderful. (Minus the fish-part - oh, boy, I suggested to have fish pies that we have in the fridge - just why did I do that?!!! They are home-made, but.... noooo... I have my Father´s no-fish-genes...)

  5. Wonderful pic of snails. Next goal of evolution would be the ability to take off the shells during mating.

  6. Where's the dong gui? I love chicken soup with that and seng see (the fine ginseng hairs) but we would have a lot of soup - so comforting, drinking the soup. Great for health too...but I heard people saying that dong gui is not for men, dunno why.

    1. I only put in a few pieces of dong gui. There are more ginger slices than dong gui.

  9. I hope the pair of garden snails are not on the main road else it would be dangerous for them. Your steamed chicken looks way better than the ones I bought yesterday. Luffa dish I can eat the whole plate. Chee Cheong fun for me anytime. With jicama in them is even more tasty. 😋😋😋The strawberry apples don't look tiny in the photo. Must be very nice to eat. Are you the one who ate most of your home made curry puffs? He didn't eat as many as you did?

  12. Curry sauce with CCF is also nice. Actually there are quite a few varieties of CCF and I like them all.

  13. The curry puffs always look so good! I don't see how people can eat slimy snails! Or raw oysters either for that matter.

  14. Curry puffs are the best with coffee, hmmm they smell so good together.
