Sweet Sour Mustard Green For Dinner

The sunrise shots were taken last Friday.

Sunrise at 7:06am.
7:07am
7:10am.
~~~~~
Dine-in breakfast.
Again, we chose a table for 2 people at the 5 foot way to avoid sitting inside the shop. It was early and there were only a handful of dine-in customers.
I ordered this hand torn pan mee which I enjoyed very much.
I also ordered 2 dumplings (sui kao) to share with hubby.
Hubby ordered noodle from the yeong tau fu stall. These were some of the stuffed ingredients he ordered which were quite good.
I get to see this side and back view of the building from where I sat.
I bought 4 packets of Nyonya kuih from the coffee shop and gave 2 packs to my neighbour. This is one of the places selling nice Nyonya kuih.
~~~~~
We had only 1 dish for dinner.
A friend gave me a big tub of stewed chicken with dried shiitake mushrooms. I quickly went out to buy some mustard green to add to the stewed chicken. Add in some dried chilies and assam keping for flavour. Gave some to neighbour and we finished the whole thing with steamed rice.
Peace Lily from my garden.

I have told you all this so that you will have peace of heart and mind.
Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows;
but cheer up, for I have overcome the world.
(John 16:33, The Living Bible-TLB)

  4. I went and bought some kampua mee and pian sip (our Foochow wantons) for breakfast at the nearby coffee shop in the next lane...and I saw only one customer (man) at one table and a couple at another table. Maybe it was still early or things are not picking up so well here - people are still very wary, not keen on dining in just yet. I tapao-ed home for the ladies in the house - we have not been anywhere for a long long time now.

    I wish I could get some really nice nyonya kuihs here. There are some so-so ones here, not as nice as the very good ones I can get in Kuching.

  11. Nancy, the lily of peace is a plant that does not offer difficulties for its cultivation, around here we have it in the interiors of our house.
    Nancy, I would like to know from which country you are writing

    1. Hello Norma, I am writing from Malaysia. We enjoy a tropical climate all year round. When it is hot, it can be humid too.

  13. Greetings and Salutations! A friend gave you a tub of stewed chicken and you added and gave some to neighbor. I admire your neighborhood. The view from where you sat was very interesting to me. Unusual to see so many doors. If opened a person would fall out. I opened a door at my grandmother's house in Tennessee and almost fell into a gully. I was thirteen but had enough brains not to take a step. I froze. Closed the door. Went outside to play instead through a different door. LOL! I really liked the Peace Lily in your garden. We are wearing masks in Illinois, U.S.A. We wear them inside restaurants, wear them walking on pathways, bike riding. Each state pretty much decides to wear a mask or not. Each restaurant or grocery store can put up a sign to wear the mask inside. Some people over 65 are getting booster vaccine shots. Some people never were vaccinated.

    1. The situation you have described is almost like ours except that it is mandatory to wear mask here. Those caught not wearing a mask will be fined. The booster jab is now open to those above 65 and with comorbidity problems.

  16. Hahahaha, you are good, can turn the stew chicken mushroom dish into a sour spicy mustard green dish. How did you get the idea to do so? Usually we just add on ingredients to sour spicy mustard green dish or roast meat dish but not stew dish. That house is sure special, it uses brick to seal up all openings on the highest floor. Do you know what the building is used for?
