Sunrise at 7:35am
I stopped to buy some mangoes from a roadside stall. The mangoes was selling at RM7 per kg. (RM7 is approx. 1.66 USD), I don't know the name of these mangoes but they were juicy and sweet. The flesh thick with flat seed.

The following were harvested from my garden.
Beautiful tomatoes, no more worms after wrapping them in plastic bags. I cut a few small holes in the plastic bags for air circulation. I enjoy eating them raw knowing that they are free from pesticide.
Chili bean sauce (Toban Djan) from Lee Kum Kee.
This is a tasty mixed treasures dish.
Ingredients used: Pork rib, white bitter gourds, bean curd stick, tofu puff, chili bean sauce, chopped garlic & ginger, salt and sugar to taste.
Only 1 nutritious dish dinner for 2 people.
Chinese art wall mural on a wall surrounding a nearby Chinese school.

You are my hiding place from every storm of life;
you even keep me from getting into trouble!
You surround me with songs of victory.
(Psalm 32:7, The Living Bible-TLB)
Lovely mural.

DeleteThe mangoes look like mango susu which is my favorite. I like chili bean sauce which I used for roasting chicken.
ReplyDeleteThank you, PH. I must try chili bean sauce and roast chicken.
DeleteI do enjoy those mangoes but they are very expensive here. Hard to buy and bring back too - once, I bought a box of those Thai ones from Jalan Petaling in KL. By the time, I reached home, over-ripe, rotting away already. So angry!!!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about the over-ripe mangoes. Next time, try to buy the ones that are not too ripe.
DeleteI love that bitter gourd and pork dish..so flavourful and appetizing.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angie.
DeleteWow, those mangoes were cheap, I think I would be eating mangoes from morning to night, lol. This year due to the extreme heat the small mangoes in our tree burned to a crisp and only 3 survived, and they were very sweet.
ReplyDeleteLovely Chinese mural, thanks for participating in Monday Murals Nancy.
Thank you, Sami. We enjoy eating mangoes more than any other fruits.
DeleteI realise one drawback to me planting veggies is, I wouldn't know when to harvest them. Like you have big bittergourds and little ones there.
ReplyDeleteI learn through experience. The bitter gourds from the old vines are smaller than those from more healthy vines.
Delete...I love the mural!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tom.
DeleteYou can hardly buy one mango here for what you pay for a kilo!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that mango is that expensive over there.
DeleteRibs are not my thing, by it looks delicious. Like always!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mangusie.

DeleteYour dinner dish of Pork Rib and Bitter Gourd With Chili Bean Sauce must be so delicious! Especially with home grown vegetables. Did you buy 3 mangoes? I love eating mangoes but cutting them is so messy with juice everywhere. How do you handle the juice when you are cutting the mangoes?
ReplyDeleteYes, bought 3 mangoes. Must use a sharp knife to cut.

DeleteYou managed to grow so much white bittergourd! I thought they would be very difficult judging from the high prices in the market.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Stacy. I don't know why the farmers don't plant the white bittergourds.
