Before I start on my post, I want to share something with you. When we reached home after our morning walk this morning, I didn't notice anything amiss. It was only when I was harvesting the Green Amaranth from the small vegetable patch in front of my house, I noticed an empty space which was supposed to be occupied by a pot of blooming "Crown of Thorns".
Crown of Thorns
At first, I stared at that empty space for a while before I realized that my pot of "Crown of Thorns" was missing. Someone must have used a motorcycle or a car to cart it away because it was not a small or light pot which you can carry it with both hands and walk away with it.
I have read of cases of people stealing pots of plants from shop front or from their neighbours and it looks like this offence or habit of taking things that do not belong to them is becoming a new normal for some people.
Instead of being angry, I actually felt sorry for that person. If he or she has been caught in a CCTV camera by someone else, the video of the theft could have been shared on the social media. Okay, enough of this unfortunate incident that happened this morning. Now back to my post.............
Once in a while, we will drive out to town for our favourite wonton noodle at Restoran Memorable Good Taste, Jalan Theatre, Ipoh.
This restaurant is near to this Octagon Building in Ipoh new town.
To avoid being disappointed, we usually go early to make sure the food is not sold out.
This is a husband and wife team.
As usual, we ordered 2 sets of the above.
Each set consists of a small bowl of sweet sour pork rib,
A bowl of wonton (dumplings) and we added a sui kao dumpling.
And a plate of fine wonton noodle with beansprouts.
The lady boss is also very generous with the pickled green chilies.

Home cooked dinner.
I needed to clear some of the vegetables harvested from my garden.
Omelette with long beans and Chinese chives from my garden.
Home grown long green okras, blanched and served with crunchy chili oil.
Dinner for 2 people with plain brown porridge.
We couldn't finish the omelette, so I kept whatever was left for the next day lunch.

Throne of crowns are quite pretty.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on and stay safe
Thank you, Dora.
DeleteGood grief, maybe you should put up a fence with a locked gate. But you have such a great attitude about it! I had a Crown Of Thorns, but it did not thrive.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ginny. It is outside our house and besides the road so a fence is not possible. I still have another pot of Crown of Thorns but needs time to grow into a full pot.

ReplyDeleteOh. That is... you are right. Better feel sorry for that person you won´t get the flowers back anyways, but... crazy times.
The Octagon Building looks a bit like our "Affenfelsen" - "Monkey-Rock", where the students live. Just ours looks quite boring, and I have to see it every day!
So easy to pep up a building!
Oh! A husband and wife team. Dangerous. My parents did the same. Sat in each others neck 24/7.
I love Ingo but am glad we work in different places!
Hmmm, the omelette looks yummy!!! Okras, interesting. One day I´ll find some, I hope!
Yes, I know what you mean by dangerous. There was once a husband and wife team working at a snack stall and there were days they will quarrel and drive all their customers away. It is better for husband and wife to work in different places. Lol!
DeleteThat Octagon Building is very impressive. I love the colour of your okra, nicely done, not overcooked.
ReplyDeleteThank you, STP.
DeleteOh dear, I am so sorry your plant was stolen! That's terrible, I cannot imagine how anyone could do such a thing. I have two pots outside my house. It has been there, nobody attempted to take away because the plant is so ugly hah..hah... Your homecooked dishes are wonderful as always!
ReplyDeleteActually that pot has been there for a long time. Never thought someone would want to steal it. Fortunately, I propagated one in a small pot but it will need time to grow.
DeleteSorry to hear it, this happen a lot here, and people often steal things from cemeteries! They have no conscience. Have a great day, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteIt is sad that these days, stealing has become a norm.
DeleteWhat a interesting meals, thanks for your sharing...
ReplyDeleteThank you and have a great weekend.
DeleteI have not tried Sweet Sour Pork Rib Wonton Noodle before. Don't think I have seen any sold here. Your Home Cooked Dinner is so suitable for me until I don't need to eat rice with it. Sorry to hear about the missing pot of flower. Is it outside your gate and house fencing?
ReplyDeleteYes, the pot of plant is outside my gate and fencing. It has been there for a long time until someone cannot resist stealing it.
DeleteDeliciosos pratos e gosto da arquitetura do edifício.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e continuação de uma boa semana.

ReplyDeleteTheft knows no boundary.
DeleteLas florecitas rosas son super bonitas ♥
ReplyDeleteThank you, Malindha.
DeleteSweet and sour pork ribs with wonton noodles sound tasty. Your homecooked meal is so healthy. It has been raining frequently in SG, how about your side?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Libby. We are also having frequent rain this side. In fact, the sky is now dark and rain is expected anytime now.
DeleteNancy, is wonton noodle different to regular noodles?
ReplyDeleteCruisin Paul
Yes, it is a different to regular noodles.
DeleteSorry to hear someone stole your plant. It is more than the loss of a plant. It was the time and care we take with such things.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is so true about missing the plant.
DeleteSomeone stole your plant? Shame on them.
ReplyDeleteLove the food. Yummy.
Have a fabulous day, Nancy. ♥

ReplyDeleteSo true. Thank you, Jo-Anne.
DeleteHi, Nancy, it's always good to cook with the vegetables you harvested 😁.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Shirley.
DeleteThat's a big building.
ReplyDeleteMe gustaron las flores y los fideos. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteThose flowers are so pretty, i also feel sorry for people who do wrong, they don't understand the damage they do to their own souls when they behave that way.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mimi. So true about the damage done to their own soul.
DeleteWhat... heavy potted plant also people want to steal.
ReplyDeleteYes lo, some more the plant has thorns, though not the hard type.
DeleteThat was not very nice, someone stealing your pot and plant. Always interesting finds at your blog. You are amazing. Enjoy your day.
