Home Cooked Steamed Prawns & Fried Clams For Dinner

The weather is getting warmer now. That means we will be sweating and the air conditioner will be on for most of the nights. We still have intermittent rain and occasional thunderstorm.

On this particular morning, we started our morning walk at about 7:05am.
Returning from our morning walk at about 7:45am.
~~~~~
Dinner at our friend's house for 4 people.
She bought some fresh prawns and clams (lala).
Steamed prawns.
Stir fried clams (lala) with sour lime sauce, ginger, garlic, and basil leaves.
She knows my hubby doesn't like the smell of basil leaves, so she separately stir fried a plate of clams without the basil leaves for hubby.
I contributed this pot of stewed pork rib with blanched broccoli.
This was our early dinner ( and some of us took a bit of rice to go with the above dishes. After dinner, we watched TV and chit chatted and then it was time for supper. We then drove to the Perak Stadium food stalls looking for Chinese rojak.
Our friend ordered this plate of fruit rojak for sharing.
She also ordered the above crispy flour crackers, drizzled with rojak sauce and crushed peanuts. It comes in a set of 3 pieces.
I ordered this plate of blanched paku pakis (salad style).
This wasn't as nice and tender as before.
As you can see the thick fibrous stalks was very obvious.
For drink, we order this bean curd sheet boiled with barley.
The above items were displayed at the Antong Coffee Mill mini museum. The enamel items consisting of tiffin (food) carrier, a pot and 2 mugs.
A close up of the Purple Heart flower from my garden.
But you have received the Holy Spirit,
and he lives within you, in your hearts,
so that you don't need anyone to teach you what is right.
For he teaches you all things, and he is the Truth, and no liar;
and so, just as he has said, you must live in Christ,
never to depart from him.
(1 John 2:27, The Living Bible-TLB)
  1. Dinner with homecooked dishes is the best! The Purple Heart flower is indeed so pretty in the close up shot. Usually it goes unnoticed since it is so small.
  2. Both your friend's prawn and clam dishes look so good! The paku, you need to split the stalks into halves or quarters prior to frying. Love that old school tiffin carrier.
  7. Delicious food as always. I like this tiffin career. In Sri Lanka, people still use similar tiffin carriers.
  9. We've already experienced the warmest weather; I'm glad it rains every now and then there. I'm guessing it's a Tiffin container made of ceramic. I hope you had a good time at supper.
