We know there is a beautiful lake called Tasek Cermin (in Malay), which means Mirror Lake in Ipoh. We have been wanting to visit this lake but somehow we didn't get to do so until last weekend. After our breakfast at Classic Dim Sum Cafe, we drove to Tasek Cermin, which is off Jalan Gopeng. The Tasek Cermin signage is clearly visible a short distance after the Sam Poh Tong Temple. Parking is free and the entrance fee is only RM3 for Malaysian citizens.
Opening hours: 9am - 5pm.
Entrance to the tunnel.
We were told it was a short walk to the lake.
True enough, we can see the other end of the short tunnel from the entrance. Just a short walk on level path.
We didn't know what to expect even as we walked nearer to the opening.
Oh gosh! So many visitors! No wonder, it was already 10:40am. If you don't want people getting into your photos, then you will need to be there earlier.
Wow! My first sight of the mirror lake!
At first glance, I thought I was looking into a deep valley.
It took awhile before I realized I was staring at the beautiful reflection in the water.
You need to be there, to see with your own eyes to appreciate the beauty of this place.
I don't know how best to describe this place, so just sit back and enjoy the beauty. Better still, visit this place and see for yourself.
This is a great photography spot but I was not brave enough to get down there.
If you are able to get down to that spot, you can get this nice view from there.
This is another great photography spot.
Time to walk back through the tunnel.
Nearby hills.
I can see a face on the side of the hill. Can you see it too?
Interesting rocks.
A busload of tourists taking a group photo.
Overall, it was a short visit that took about an hour but it was worth the visit.

Let there be tears for the wrong things you have done.
Let there be sorrow and sincere grief.
Let there be sadness instead of laughter, and gloom instead of joy.
Then when you realize your worthlessness before the Lord,
he will lift you up, encourage and help you.

Safety is more important. I wouldn't risk going down there just to take a selfie. The lake looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angie. Yes, dare not risk falling into the lake.

DeleteThank you Nancy for showing us this beautiful place. I think at 9 am also there will be a queue of visitors waiting for the place to open to let them in since there are tour operators including this place into their itinerary. Entrance fee of MYR 3 is reasonable. Nancy, you have done a wonderful description of this place, makes me want to visit it. Will you be bringing more of your Friends there to visit this place?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mun. I wouldn't mind accompanying my friends here since I really like this place.

DeleteOMG! The scenery is so beautiful! I never knew there is such an enchanting place in Ipoh. If I saw it and no one told me where it is, I would have thought it is in China LOL! I must take an opportunity to ask my partner to take me there one day.
ReplyDeleteEven though the place is small, it is worth visiting. Try to visit at about 9am to get better photos.
Delete...this is a gorgeous destination, thanks Nancy!

Thank you for sharing the interesting youtube videos. Now I know that the lake was an old mining pond with no fresh water inlet or outlet.
DeleteNice place! How crystal clear is the water of the lake!
ReplyDeleteI can't see the face, but I see that the place is very beautiful.
Thank you, Norma. I didn't expect the water to be so clear.
DeleteThanks Nancy for sharing your day with us! What a beautiful lake!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kathe.
DeleteLike all beautiful places, it attracts both locals and tourists. Crowds are still not without virus risk. Besides, it's hard to take photos. Nevertheless, you had a good, pleasant day.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Duta. We are keeping good distance.
DeleteAn attractive place Nancy.
