Tasty Pan Mee At Restoran Bandaraya, Ipoh

On this particular morning, we cancelled our morning walk because hubby was feeling a bit tired. It could be due to him spending hours in the heat tending to his garden project and not drinking enough water. So we rested from morning walk for that day but it didn't stop us from getting up early.

Morning sky at 6:35am.
I went out to sweep the dry leaves and watered the plants.
Sunrise at 6:55am.
Sunrise at 7:30am.
We drove out to town for breakfast at Restoran Bandaraya, Ipoh. We haven't been here for a long time.
We ordered 2 bowls of pan mee in clear broth instead of the chili pan mee (dry version).
Pan mee in clear broth with egg added.

From my garden.
I kept the seed from the avocado that a friend gave to me.
I buried it with some garden soil and waited for it to sprout.
I won't be growing it in my garden because I don't have the space for a big avocado tree. Once it has grown bigger and stronger, I will pass it to a friend who has ample place in her garden.
Vertical planting tower DIY by hubby.
He even planted the vegetables himself and it was a success.
The vegetables have been harvested, cooked and consumed.
These vertical planting towers have caught the eyes and interest of passers-by.
Some were curious and have stopped to ask about the towers.

He is always kind and loving to me; he is my fortress,
my tower of strength and safety, my deliverer.
He stands before me as a shield. He subdues my people under me.
(Psalm 144:2, The Living Bible-TLB)

  2. It has turned hot in KL too.

I guess it won't be easy to plant avocado to fruit, unless it's the Indonesia variety.

Oh the veg tower is outside your house.

  4. I saw a pan mee stall at the place I went to this morning but I did not eat that. Not a fan of pan mee. Good luck with your avocado!

    1. For me, it all depends on which pan mee. I will avoid most pan mee but really like a few that are very good.

  7. Your hubby did an excellent job designing this vertical garden, and it's no surprise that people are attracted to it. I just showed it to my mom, and she liked it. The avocado sprout is good for you, and yes, it grows like a tree, and a small space is insufficient.

    1. Thank you, Jeevan. Since I don't have space for avocado tree, I won't be able to enjoy home grown ones.

  9. Nancy don't forget to ask your husband what is the video with which I learned how to make the vertical nursery. It would be very useful for those people who want to grow but don't have space.

  10. He has to rest a little. The work can be done later. Exhaustion is bad if your body isn't ready for it. Have a good day Nancy.

  15. Thank you Nancy for sharing your day with us. The soup of the Tasty Pan Mee At Restoran Bandaraya, Ipoh sure looks very clear and easy to drink. I always go for soupy pan Mee instead of chili pan Mee. Weather is hot nowadays so it is easy to get dehydrated. Please drink plenty of liquid. So good that your friend has avocado tree and soon another friend will receive your avocado sprout baby plant. Could the avocado tree be planted in a big pot?

    1. Thank you, Mun. I am not sure about growing avocado tree in a big pot. It seems it will take many years for avocado to fruit if grown from seeds. I already have a ciku tree in a big pot and it is about 6 years and still no sign of fruit. Sigh....

    2. Hhmmmm, online says it takes anywhere from five to eight years to bear fruit. Young trees may flower, but not set fruit.

    3. No sign of flower on my ciku tree yet....Don't know how many more years to wait.
