Growing Goji Berries or Wolf Berries In my Garden

Even though I have a very small garden, it didn't stop me from trying to grow new things in my garden. I think it was end of 2021 or beginning of 2022, I sowed some seeds from a single goji berry or wolf berry. A few seedlings appeared and I kept 4 for myself and gave away the rest to my friends. I now have 4 pots of goji berry plants in my garden.

Goji berry or wolf berry plant.
This photo was taken end of April, 2020.
Middle of July, 2020.
January, 2023.
Finally, after about 3 years, one of my goji berry plants has started to flower.
The first flowers didn't turn into berries. More flowers are appearing on the plants and I am hoping to see some berries on the plant soon. I am also hoping for the other plants to bear flowers.

"I am the true Vine, and my Father is the Gardener.
He lops off every branch that doesn't produce.
and he prunes those branches that bear fruit for even larger crops.
He has already tended you by pruning you back for greater strength
and usefulness by means of the commands I gave you.
(John 15:1-3, The Living Bible-TLB)

  3. Goodness me, I have never seen a goji berry plant! And now I have :) Gardening needs patience as some plants take years to bear their first blooms. The tiny flowers are very pretty.

  4. Plants, fruits, veggies, so intersting!
We have but a small balcony, yet I got strawberry-plants from my parent´s garden years ago - my Mum collected them in the woods "with me" (I was 2 years old) - they have grown leaves so big, but the fruit stays small and sweet!

  15. I love wolfberries. Used in cooking. In vegetable, in soup, in dessert. Now I am thinking of planting, after looking at your plant.

    1. Do plant some. If you have space, it is better to plant them in the ground, probably they grow faster and better.

  21. Your goji berry looks so healthy, Nancy! I'm always impressed with your green fingers. There is a lot of construction in my part of the world just now and it is not doing my plants and good. But we shall persevere.
