Hong Kong, Day 3 - Temple Street night market.
Upon returning from Macau, we made our way to Temple Street. We had a dinner appointment near Temple Street. We were early and to spend the time, we took a walk to enjoy the night market.
The gateway or archway to Temple Street.
The street closed to traffic and was crowded with visitors.
Popular eatery - fully packed to the brim.
Aha! I saw my favourite fruit - Durians!!!
There were many brightly lit stalls selling all kinds of things. I took some photos but they didn't turn out well.
Direction post.

He delights in every detail of their lives.
Though they stumble, they will never fall,
for the LORD holds them by the hand.

Hello, what a wonderful market place. I have never heard of the fruit durians? Great photos, thanks for sharing your visit. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen, durians are thorny fruits and they have a very strong odor. Durian lovers love the strong odor but others find it too strong for their liking.
Deletei like that entrance! thanks, nancy!
ReplyDeleteHi Theresa, the entrance has a very grand look!
DeleteWhat a lovely market! I enjoyed this tour, Nancy, thanks so much for sharing it. :)

DeleteI wonder how the durians taste like over there in HK, Nancy...
ReplyDeleteHi Claire, I think they are Thai durians. We didn't buy any.
DeleteHong Kong by night. Love it. I have seen Hong Kong from the air while changing planes.
ReplyDeleteHong Kong is beautiful by night!
DeleteDid you find out about the price for the durians in HK?
ReplyDeleteHi Mun, we didn't ask the price because we didn't buy any and we think they are Thai durians. I love our local kampung durians.
DeleteI would have loved to roam around this market. You're right. I've noticed how clean everything is. No trash just discarded. I wish folks here were as good about keeping things clean as they are where you are. Amazing.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day Nancy. ☺
Hi Sandee, its a good and interesting place to roam if we have the time. I too wish for our place to be as clean too.

ReplyDeleteThank you, Gosia. Have a beautiful day!
DeleteI always loved the markets, but the night markets were special (and some areas were not quite safe). You captured the atmosphere of them pretty well. I wish I had been there with you!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Carola. We have to know where to walk to enjoy the best of the night market.
DeleteWhat neat shots of this market all lit up at night. Looks very festive and I can see they have roped fencing to keep people in proper lines. The Spicy Crab place sounds yummy.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ida. Looks like the Spicy Crab is popular here and good business!
DeleteIt looks exciting! Tom The Backroads Traveller
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tom. Have a wonderful day!

DeleteI love Hk. There's always something interesting to do and see there.
ReplyDeleteThank you, dear. Our holiday was too short to enjoy all that Hong Kong has to offer.
DeleteNice and clean night market. Reminded the time I used to visit Petaling street market almost every Sunday. ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Rose, I too used to enjoy Petaling Street market once but things have changed a lot in this present time. Long time have not been there.
DeleteIt looks as busy at night as in day time and I imagine it's cooler at night. I've seen durian fruits but have never tasted them. There are many different species and they are very costly.
ReplyDeleteI love the entrance arch to Temple Street. Very remarkable. thanks for the photos. It's like a visit to a place I'll probably never visit and I appreciate it very much. Thanks you Nancy.
Hugs, JB
Thank you, Julia and you are most welcome to visit through my photos. Have a sweet day!

ReplyDeleteHi Margaret, this is a very busy place.
DeleteNice pics, Nancy! I find the durians fascinating. I have heard about them, never tried one.
ReplyDelete~
The durians are fascinating fruits. They have strong smells, some may find them pungent but they are very delicious. You will have to taste them to know whether you like them or not. Have a lovely weekend!
DeleteI am amazed at how busy it is and it appears to be night time!
ReplyDeleteHi Rose, this is a very busy street in Hong Kong. Both day and night, the place is always busy.
