On Saturdays, I usually do not cook and we will take our dinner at Restoran Kam Wan in Ipoh Garden (opposite the Woolley Food City or Woolley Food Court). There are many varieties to choose from the many stalls there. Below are some of the food we have tried or taken.
This is the non-spicy noodle called "Lam Mee".
The popular curry noodles which my Taiping friends love to eat.
Local spring rolls (popiah) - there is always a queue at the stall.
There are times we also ordered BBQ meat (satay).
Grilled stingray fish (whole)
The Grilled fish stall.
And finally our hot favourite - Nasi Pandan or Pandan rice stall.
1 deep fried chicken drumstick + 1 rending chicken drumstick + sambal petai + 1 portion pandan rice = for hubby and I to share.
Some days we order sambal petai + curry chicken + stir fried 4 angled beans + pandan rice = to be shared by hubby and I.
Another day we ordered curry chicken + sambal petai + vegetable acar + pandan rice = to be shared by hubby and I.
Customers queuing up for the Pandan Rice.
Thank God for the clear blue sky and clean, fresh air to breathe. The Northeast monsoon season has started and it has been raining almost every afternoon.
If you obey all of my commandments,
I will give you regular rains, and the land will yield bumper crops,
and the trees will be loaded with fruit long after the normal time!
And grapes will still be ripening when sowing time comes again.
You shall eat your fill, and live safely in the land.
(Leviticus 26:3-5, The Living Bible-TLB)
Hello, you have many choices of meals there.I see a few that would be favorites for me. Lov ethe sky shot. Have a happy weekend!

ReplyDeleteI'm glad you have fresh clean air to breathe again.
Have a fabulous day Nancy. ☺
Thank you, Sandee. We are enjoying the fresh air. Have a blessed Sunday!
DeleteSo many dishes to choose from..... How does the grill Stingray fish taste like? It looks a bit over done from what I can see in the photos, I may be wrong. It must be the dark sauce they put on. I didn't know it was an edible fish. I'm learning something new again today.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad the sky is clear again and the smog is gone.
Hugs,
JB
Thank you, Julia. The grilled fish was not overdone. The fish was covered with a kind of spicy paste to give that kind of overdone look. Very tasty. Have a blessed Sunday!
DeleteHello Nancy!:)An appetizing array of dishes for sure, and it looks like a popular place to eat. I always choose Spring Rolls as a starter, and usually duck, or shellfish. Have a great weekend!:)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Breathtaking. It is a food court and is usually very full during the weekends! Have a blessed Sunday!

DeleteIs Lam Mee best known in Ipoh? It's one dish I remember trying in the old town.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is. There is one in old town which also has the famous curry noodle, same shop. I think it should be the same one you have tasted. Have a blessed Sunday!
DeleteI love going to food centre when you could order many dishes to try.
ReplyDeleteLooking at your grilled stingray makes me drooling. I love grilled fishes.

DeletePTL for the clear blue sky and for the rain. I love to eat all the food you have here and if I live nearby I would be there at 5.30pm every evening for the food. So many varieties so can eat a different dish every day. On which day are they closed?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mun. This is a food court and I think its open everyday. But I do not know about the individual stalls. For the pandan rice stall, the boss said there is no definite off days, when she is tired, she will take leave. Have a lovely Monday!
