I had some home grown bitter gourds in my fridge. The bitter gourds were slightly smaller in size this round probably due to lack of care and fertilizer. So for Sunday's dinner, I decided to cook stewed pork with bitter gourds.
Stewed pork with bitter gourds & carrot.
Ingredients used: chopped garlic, ginger, preserved black bean and taucu.
Blanched sweet potato leaves, drizzled with garlic oil & soy sauce.
Who would think of having noodle with stewed pork and bitter gourd?
Simple dinner for 2 people

And now, brothers, as I close this letter,
let me say this one more thing:
Fix your thoughts on what is true and good and right.
Think about things that are pure and lovely,
and dwell on the fine, good things in others.
Think about all you can praise God for and be glad about.
(Philippians 4:8, The Living Bible-TLB)
Pretty periwinkles! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda.
DeleteI have never heard of this plant before!
ReplyDeleteIt has no flowers, just leaves in the shades of white, pink and green.
DeleteI love your garden :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Iwona.
DeleteI love white colour flowers, they look so pure and flawless. It is raining heavily in sg today. Love the stewed pork with bittergourd and carrot, the flavourful taste of the pork and sauce will balance off the bitterness of the bittergourd. I have not eaten them with noddles before. Happy sunday!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Libby.
DeleteLove the bitter gourd dish, no matter that the gourds are a bit small. I think it is perfectly fine to eat noodle with stewed pork and bitter gourd. I would even eat bread or oats with stewed pork and bitter gourd. Since this is your simple dinner, I wonder, what would you cook for a not simple home cooked dinner, must be some very elaborate and complex dishes?
ReplyDeleteMy not so simple home cooked dinner will be for CNY celebration, etc.
