Golden Tree Snake

We overslept this morning and woke up a bit later than usual. The weather was nice and dry and we were able to go for morning walk.

Morning sky about 7:25am.
We walked past one of the houses and saw this cat watching us.
It stayed for a snapshot before it disappeared into the drain.
One of the baby grasshoppers that have been feeding on my hibiscus leaves and petals.

The special guest star of this post is a snake.
A dear friend shared with me the following photos of a snake that her brother saw in his backyard.

This snake is the Golden Tree Snake (Chrysopelea ornata) and is found in both South and Southeast Asia.

According to her brother, the snake was in the midst of molting its skin on the fence.

Golden Tree Snakes are also known as Flying Snakes because they glide very well.

They are tree dwellers and they can climb even walls.

These snakes are lime green with black checkered type patterned.

This friend that shared the above photos is the same friend that dared to hold a python with her hands and asked me to take snapshots. You can click here if you are interested to see the photos.

There are three or four things I cannot understand:
How eagles fly so high or snakes crawl on rocks,
how ships sail the ocean or people fall in love.

  11. Morning walks are especially wonderful on holidays when there is no rush to anything. Interesting animals. There are only three species of snakes here in Finland.

  12. I hate snakes, any snakes. That's why the snake was considered the devil in the garden of Eden. It's ugly and scary.

    1. It is a semi venomous snake. I usually use my garden hose to spray water to shoo off the grasshoppers.
