It was a Saturday and the day started with a lovely morning and a golden sunrise.
Sunrise at 7:36am
~~~~~
An early dinner.
I had nothing much to do, so I decided to cook dinner earlier than usual.
The tub of prawns was thawed. Hubby requested for prawn omelette. Its been a long time since I cooked prawn omelette. I diced the prawns and chopped the spring onions and chilies.
I harvested some long beans, enough for dinner. Steamed long beans and topped with sambal dried prawns. By the time I finished washing up after dinner, it was about 5:35pm. Around that time, it started to rain and it turned into a heavy downpour.
Heavy downpour at 5:43pm.
These snapshots were taken from under my porch area.
My little garden was flooded.
The large amount of rain water couldn't flow fast enough and the drain was filled to the brim.
I messaged my neighbour who was still at work and she was worried that the water would flow into her porch area. We were glad it didn't and after a while, the rain slowed down.
When the rain slowed down, the water in the drain was able to flow without overflowing the drain.
For if you give, you will get!
Your gift will return to you in full and overflowing measure,
pressed down, shaken together to make room for more,
and running over.
Whatever measure you use to give - large or small -
will be used to measure what is given back to you.
(Luke 6:38, The Living Bible-TLB)
I love to eat prawns omelette. Better still if the prawns are whole in the omelette. Wow! What a heavy rain. Luckily no flood. After this heavy rain, did u go out to pour out any residue water still ponding in your pots?
ReplyDeleteNo problem with water logged flower pots. The water could easily drain out after a short while.
DeleteYikes, good thing that rain stopped when it did. You have pretty views from your house.
ReplyDeleteThank God the rain stopped before the drain overflowed.
DeleteWow.. so heavy downpour! Now it is hot hot weather again!
ReplyDeleteWhen it didn't rain, the weather is very hot.
DeleteThe long beans with dried shrimp looks so tasty!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angie.
DeleteWonderful views. Your food looks delish!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Shiju.
DeleteI also like prawn omelette like that!
ReplyDeleteFlash flood.. what to do, drainage systems can't cope with the sudden volume of water.
It only happens when there is a sudden downpour.
DeleteLovely sunrise there and you certainly did have a big down pour of rain.
ReplyDeleteThere are floods in Australia's State of New South Wales at the moment, saw a whole house go down the street and into the river - just amazing. On the TV of course in the news :)
Thank you, Margaret. Sometimes flood can be scary.
DeleteGreat review and beautiful photos! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Elena.
DeleteNem tudo que parece é: o dia começou prometedor e acabou desabando água.
Thank you, Juvenal.
DeleteIf I was presented with the two menu choices, then I would choose .. Prawn omelet, hahaha .. because I like shrimp cooked any way.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Himawan.
DeleteOur rainy season here in Florida is from May thru to Oct and I see many downpours then.
ReplyDeleteWe need the rain and I don't mind the downpours as long as there is no flooding.
DeleteThst looks like such a heavy heavy rain...
ReplyDeleteVery heavy downpour.
Delete...what a rain!
ReplyDeleteVery heavy rain.
DeleteThe downpour looks a lot like our summer weather here. Our weather always sounds similar. You sure won't have to water your garden anytime soon!
ReplyDeleteYes, that downpour helps me save some water. And I also have some big containers storing the rain water for watering my plants.
DeleteDelicious prawn omlette. Wow it really rains in your area. Have a great day Nancy.
ReplyDeleteCruisin Paul
Thank you, Paul.
Deletegreat post!
DeletePrawn omelette looks tasty and nutritious. Would like to try its recipe. Sun-rise picture is wonderful. Happy day!
ReplyDeleteThank you and I am sure you will enjoy the prawn omelette.
DeleteDinner looked mighty good and you had me at prawns. Yummy.
ReplyDeleteWow that was some downpour. I'm glad nothing was damaged and the drain finally took care of the abundance of water.
Have a fabulous day and week, Nancy. ♥
Thank you, Sandee. Have a wonderful day and week.
DeleteWoW! A beautiful sunrise and look at that rainstorm. They get heavy rains like that on the coast here, not so much here in the mountains. Love your prawn omelette and the beans look yummy.
ReplyDeleteThank you and have a great week.
DeleteI love the whole idea of a shrimp omelet. I must try that recipe. It has been raining here, too.
ReplyDeleteSometimes there is no rain at all for days.
DeleteTim likes prawn omelettes, I do not
ReplyDeleteWe all have our likes and dislikes.
DeleteIt happens here, too, that the rain will come so hard and fast it cannot drain well. Then it stops and all drains, and we are thankful!
ReplyDeleteThankful for God's good timing.
Deletethat's heavy downpour!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Nux.
DeleteGlad the heavy rain took a break rather than flooding more. I hope it was a refreshing shower, and we really need one of it badly now to put down the temperature.
ReplyDeleteThe heavy rain was able to bring down the temperature temporary.
DeleteLa lluvia me gusta pero no las inundaciones. Besos.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Teresa.
DeleteWhat a pretty sunrise!
