Enjoy Beef Noodles On A Sunday Morning At Yong Tau Fu Tai Hwa, Ipoh.

Someone recommended this beef noodle stall on Facebook. According to this person, this beef noodle tastes better than the one in Ipoh old town. Hubby and I love beef soup noodle, so we were interested to check out this place which we have not been before.

It was a Sunday morning and since we were up early, I suggested that we go and check out this new place for our breakfast. We found the place and I got down from the car to ask if it is the beef noodle stall. The reply was "Yes!" and they were ready to start in a few minutes time, i.e. about 7.45 am. We were requested to take a seat and we ordered barley, bean curd with ginkgo nuts drink from the stall selling drinks. According to the lady boss, there are many choices available and the stalls in this mini food court opens till about 10 pm.
From the noodle stall, we ordered a bowl of beef and white radish soup, some meat balls and stuff tofu.
This is the beef and white radish soup.
A closer look at the ingredients in the soup.
2 stuffed tofu, 2 meat balls and 2 tendon balls.
2 bowls of flat rice noodle or koay teow clear soup.
I can't remember the exact price but the price is reasonable.
For your info the stall is open from morning to about 6 pm.

My Flowering Water Jasmine Plant.

The hot weather seems suitable for some of my garden plants. Even though the weather is hot and humid but with daily watering of my plants, some of these plants are doing very well. It is good to see them in full bloom especially the Water Jasmine plants.

Lor Mee, Prawn Mee, Kai Si Hor Fun & Fried Mee At Pusat Makanan Ye Sing, Ipoh.

There is a new stall at this coffee shop named Pusat Makanan Ye Sing which is near to the Paragon Hotel in Ipoh. There is a standing banner with pictures of different types of noodles and all of them look so inviting and delicious.

That day, each of us ordered different types of noodles for our breakfast. As for me, I haven't eaten Lor Mee for a long, long time.
My bowl of Lor Mee served with sambal paste.
I request for the gravy not to be too thick.
Hubby ordered a bowl of Prawn Mee from the same stall.
A friend ordered this bowl of Kai Si Hor Fun, also from the same stall. This friend doesn't eat chives, so all the chives ended up in my bowl.
Another ordered this plate of fried Loh Shu Fun or short rice noodle from a different stall.
That morning, we can still see the moon at 7 am.

Air Layered Propagated Fig Plants Bearing Lots Of Figs!

I did a earlier post about how I use the air layering method to propagate my fig plants. You can click here to read if you are interested. Now the propagated plants are all doing well and fruiting.
This is the mother plant of the Brunswick Fig which I did the air layering.
This was one of the air layered cuttings that was newly planted and in a short while, the leaves started to curl up and I thought it would die. I quickly watered the plant and hope for the best. In a few days, most of the curled up leaves dropped but the plant survived and is now full of figs.
One of the propagated Purple Jordan plants from the air layering method starting to fruit.
Another propagated Purple Jordan fig plant (air layered) is also fruiting.
Thanks to my friend who shared with me this air layering method used by her husband.
I have moved all the fig plants out from the shade into the open space where they get at least a few hours of sunlight each day.
These plants will get the sun from morning till midday.
Both the Brunswick and Purple Jordan fig plants are fruiting happily.
 Brunswick Fig.
 Purple Jordan Fig.
Over watering or excess rain water will cause the fruit to burst open before they are fully ripe.
Once they burst open, they will attract tiny ants or unwelcomed insects if they are not harvested.
Time to harvest before the ants get to it.
The one on the left is almost ripe, the one on the right is still green.
 These are Purple Jordan figs.
If this had not burst, I would have waited longer for the skin to be more darken.
It tasted sweet but I think it would be sweeter if I had waited another 2 to 3 days. But since it had burst, I had no choice but to harvest it.

Be full of love for others,
following the example of Christ who loved you and
gave himself to God as a sacrifice to take away your sins.
And God was pleased, for Christ's love for you
was like sweet perfume to him.

Dinner At Kedai Makanan Dan Minuman Sauk, Menglembu.

Every time we pass by this restaurant, we can see many customers having their dinner. One evening, we decided to find out for ourselves what draws the customers to this place. As usual we were the early birds, with less than 10 customers ahead of us.

Service was fast and very soon the dishes were served. Our dinner consists of the following dishes for 4 people.
Deep fried marmite marinated pork rib with sticky sauce.
Deep fried egg tofu and 3 types of mushrooms with thick gravy. The white film you see on the surface is the egg white.
Sweet potato leaves sauteed with prawn paste or belacan (non spicy).
This picture was taken when we were there for breakfast but the noodle stall is no longer operating there.

But to obtain these gifts, you need more than faith;
you must also work hard to be good, and even that is not enough.
For then you must learn to know God better
and discover what he wants you to do.
