Turmeric Rice With Curry Chicken, Loh + Prawn Noodle & Murals

This was on the first day of August.

Morning sky at about 7am.
After our morning walk, we drove to Restoran Meng Meng Kee, Menglembu new township for breakfast.
Hubby ordered turmeric rice with chicken curry.
I ordered loh mee but requested for a mix of prawn noodle broth and loh mee broth so that the broth will not be too thick.
After adding black vinegar, it tasted great.
Instead of meat slices, they give minced meat, prawns and half hard boiled egg.
My Bauhinia Kockiana before we put up the new trellis. The plant helped to shield our living room from the outside.
Now with the new trellis supporting the Bauhinia Kockiana.

Same as above.

I didn't see any description or I may have missed it.
Painted on the tarmac of the back lane.
Hubby was waiting for me in the car so I didn't follow this painted crooked path.

Linking to Monday Mural.

He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out from the bog and the mire,
and set my feet on a hard, firm path, and steadied me as I walked along.

Pan Mee, Loh Mee & Spicy, Sour Mustard Green

Have been raining the last few days. Gloomy sky most of the days.

Morning sky at 7:15am
On the reverse side, clear view of Kledang Hill.
Can you see the communication towers on the hill?

From here, we crossed the road to the right to where the shops are to buy breakfast.
2 pieces of tapioca cake (left)
Steamed cake or "angku" kuih.
Green is with grated coconut filling, red is with red bean paste and the yellow is with bean paste.
Next, we walked over to another shop.
To buy 4 pieces of my favourite yam bean (sengkuang) fritters.

Our neighbour bought lunch for us.
And 1 set of Chili Pan mee served with Amaranth spinach soup.
Dry version pan mee served with fragrant spicy chili.
1 set of Loh Mee with thick gravy.
Noodle and gravy were placed separately.
Pour the loh mee gravy over the noodle.
Dark rice vinegar was added to the noodle.
Both the noodle portions were big.

Spicy and Sour Mustard Green (kai choy).
I cooked spicy and sour mustard green with 1 roast pork leg for dinner.
After a heavy lunch, we didn't want any rice and just enjoy the appetizing dish by itself.

Do not let any part of your bodies become tools of wickedness,
to be used for sinning; but give yourselves completely
to God - every part of you - for you are back from death
and you want to be tools in the hands of God,
to be used for his good purposes.

Mee Jawa, Fried Noodle, Chili Pan Mee & Loh Mee

5th of June. No more EMCO (for Ipoh) but now under FMCO (nationwide full lockdown). Starting our morning walk at 7am is better than not walking at all.

Sunrise at 6:45am.
The cloud formation is interesting.
What can you see?
To me, it looks like a horse or a dog (facing right).
What can you see?
After morning walk, we drove out to Restoran Tet Shin to buy fried rice vermicelli and mee jawa.
Fried rice vermicelli for hubby.
Mee jawa for me.
We ended up sharing our breakfast.
We received some star fruits and matoa fruits from a friend.
Matoa is from the Lychee family. This is the 2nd time I get to taste this fruit.
Matoa fruits look more like longan. The skin is quite hard. I have to use my palm to press the fruit against the table top to break the skin.
The flesh is thick and sweet.

My neighbour who is working from home had to go back to her office to collect some stationery. On the way home, she tapau (take away) lunch for us.
On the right is chili pan mee and loh mee is on the right.
Chili pan mee tossed with soy sauce, topped with minced pork, mushroom and lots of crunchy fried anchovies. Green amaranth soup in a separate container.
Loh mee with greens and mushroom on the right. The thick gravy, minced pork and black vinegar on the right in a separate container.
Hubby doesn't like loh mee so he ate the chili pan mee.
I like loh mee and I enjoyed it very much.
For dinner, I heated up the leftover 5 treasures rice porridge and we each had a big plate of porridge.

Murals from our morning walk.

He is smiling and it doesn't look like she is a burden to him.

Give your burdens to the Lord. He will carry them.
He will not permit the godly to slip or fall.

Loh Mee, Daikon Soup & Vegetable Acar

On this particular morning, we had breakfast at Restoran Meng Meng Kee, Menglembu new township. We managed to get a table for 4 people. We ordered 3 bowls of prawn noodle and 1 bowl of loh mee.

I ordered loh mee. I requested for a mixture of loh mee and prawn mee broth, meaning a more diluted loh mee broth. I don't like yellow noodle so I requested for rice vemicelli.
There were 2 couples. For each couple, we ordered 2 half boiled eggs and 2 slices of toast with butter and kaya.
I was looking for Kewpie roasted sesame dressing in my area but I only managed to find the above brand which I bought to try. This will do for the time being.
I used the roasted sesame dressing to make cucumber salad. It looks pale because I removed the skin from the cucumber. The ingredients used: cucumber, dried cranberry, pine nuts, walnuts, and roasted sesame dressing.
This season, this hibiscus plant has been blooming non stop with 1 to 2 flowers per day.

Home cooked dinner for 2.
Daikon soup.
Ingredients used: pork rib, daikon, carrot, red dates, goji berries, and salt to taste.
For convenience and less plates to wash, the rice was placed in the bowl and we had rice in the soup. Good suggestion from hubby. Lol!
Took out another portion of vegetable acar.
This vegetable acar can be eaten as snack too.
A simple and satisfying dinner.
Pink Mexican Petunia or Pink Showers from my front garden.
Sky watching. Sunset at 6:10pm
I can see the head of a big bird (a beak and eye facing left) above the tree tops.
And just behind the bird's head, I can also see an old witch just above the tree top. Can you see what I saw? Can you see anything else?

No one can predict misfortune.
Like fish caught in a cruel net or birds in a trap,
so men and women are caught by accidents evil and sudden.
