Hong Kong, Day 5 - Nan Lian Garden #2.

Today's post is a continuation of Nan Lian Garden #1.

As we walked along the garden route, we get to enjoy the ever-changing scenery on both sides.

The rocks in the garden are both imported and from local site.

Priceless items on exhibit.

I walked towards the wall and looked over it. And I realized that I was standing over Fung Tak road.

Our host brought to our attention that the wooden structure of the roof were joined without using any nail.

I walked up to the pond to take a closer look and quickly return to the shade. Here ended our garden tour and we were off to some sightseeing.

A Visit To Nan Lian Garden #1, Hong Kong

Hong Kong, Day 5 - Nan Lian Garden #1.

After our grand farewell dim sum breakfast treat at Cheerful Sky Cuisine, Pete and his wife wanted to take us to visit the Nan Lian Garden at Fung Tak Road, Diamond Hill.

From the dim sum restaurant, we took a walk on the overhead bridge to the Kwun Tung Ferry Pier.

While walking to the Kwun Tong bus terminus, we saw a lady fishing over the railing. We were curious and we stopped to see and ask what she was fishing. She told us that she was fishing for "leng yu or ling yu". She had 4 "leng or ling" fishes in the plastic container. These fishes are used to make the delicious fish balls that we had tasted. And so far, the best fish balls that we have tasted were those at Wong Chi Kei in Macau.

We boarded a bus at the Kwun Tong Bus terminus to Fung Tak Road.

We alighted from the bus at Fung Tak Road and followed the direction to Nan Lian Garden.

Here we were at the Nan Lian Garden located at 60, Fung Tak Road. Note the opening hours: 7.00 am to 9.00 pm.

Aerial map of Nan Lian Garden. Nan Lian Garden is a classical garden in a modern city of Hong Kong. It is situated at Diamond Hill, Kowloon, occupying an area of 35,000 sq. m. It is bordered by the Hammer Hill Road and Lung Cheung Road.

The garden and the adjacent Chi Lin Nunnery are built to represent the enactment of timber structure and garden of the ancient Tang Dynasty style in modern times.

The garden is an ingenious limitation of nature by man.

It was a very hot day and the water mist helps to cool down the temperature.

These two are not labeled. If I am not mistaken, these are petrified tree trunks!

These rocks add to the beauty of the garden.

Rocks of different shapes and sizes can be found in the garden.

Under the scorching sun, we welcome the sight and sound of this waterfall.

The plants here are so green and healthy.

Even though it was a very hot day, we enjoyed the visit to this beautiful garden.

The garden is also very clean and well maintained.

Thank you, Mrs Pete for making time to visit this garden with us on our last day in Hong Kong. Our hearts are overwhelmed with gratitude for you and Pete, making us feel so pampered and special during our stay in Hong Kong.
