Shopping & Durian Snack At Sustera Mall, Johor Bahru.

After our brunch, we drove to Sutera Mall. I get to snap the Hari Raya decorations at the Mall. The first day of the Hari Raya celebration falls on the 15 June, 2018.

We saw a roll of durian stalls on the main road, next to the car park.
To satisfy our curiosity, we walk over to take a look at the price.
These are branded durians and they are quite expensive.
 We prefer the kampung durians.
The seller chose 2 kampung durian for us.
The flesh is light beige and the taste was bitter sweet with thick creamy texture.
2 medium sized durians for 2 people.
After eating the durian, we had fresh coconut water.
They also sell pineapples but we didn't buy any.
Customers can also choose to sit here to enjoy the food.
We enjoyed the durian very much.
And we will be back for more durians.

Come, let's talk this over, says the Lord;
no matter how deep the stain of your sins,
I can take it out and make you as clean as freshly fallen snow.
Even if you are stained as red as crimson,
I can make you white as wool!

Crispy Beancurd Rolls & Noodles For Brunch, Johor Bahru.

Life in Johor Bahru is a different experience for me. Here in Ipoh, we usually get up early for our morning walk, have our breakfast, skip our lunch, and our next meal will be dinner. But here in Johor Bahru, there was no morning walks, no breakfast, we only had brunch and dinner. This is the 5th morning in JB and my friend took me to try another new place. I think the place is the Restoran Lai Kee, known for its fish balls and crispy fried beancurd rolls.
Business was good that day as some of the items were sold out.
This is the only type of deep fried crispy beancurd roll left.
Crispy beancurd roll with fish paste filling for 2 people.
And we ordered 2 bowls of noodles with fish balls and fish cake slices.
After having filled our tummy, we headed to one of the mall in JB.

Face To Face Noodle in Johor Bahru.

It was a Monday morning and our 4th day in Johor Bahru. My friend wanted me to try this special noodle at Face To Face Noodle House. Every meal is a new adventure for me. We didn't take any breakfast and by the time we were ready to go out, it was about 11.00 am.
I love this noodle that is served with bbq pork and minced pork.
This bowl of soup with 2 meat balls comes together with the plate of noodle.
I found that the noodle tasted especially delicious when I stirred in the chili flaks paste.
We also ordered 5 pieces deep fried crunchy dumplings.

Thanking God for another beautiful day!

Ah, I hear him - my beloved! Here he comes,
leaping upon the mountains and bounding over the hills.

Ikan Panggang (BBQ Fish) For Dinner, Johor Bahru.

After our return from Singapore, we stopped for dinner before returning to our accommodation. Our local friends recommended this place at Jalan Indah 3/6, Johor Bahru, which is known for its bbq fish. It is in a residential area and we have to go early before the food gets sold out. This corner house has a big side compound.
Here is where you need to pick the seafood and place your orders.
Pick your choices. There are different types of seafood available.
Cooking area consisting of gas and charcoal stoves.

We ordered the following for our dinner for 3 people.
Sambal ladies fingers or spicy okra & winged beans on banana leaf.
BBQ baby stingray topped with spicy paste on banana leaf.
Before eating, squeeze the lime juice over the fish and eat with onion sauce dipping.
 Spicy cooked cuttlefish or squids.
We ate these with white rice.
A great way to end our day with a spicy and delicious dinner!

These miniature pink hibiscus from my garden are for joining Floral Bliss.
So surprise to see this tiny bloom from the stem cutting that I had propagated for a friend.
It is so pretty even though it is so tiny.
Thank God that most of the cuttings are growing well.

I have been young and now I am old.
And in all my years I have never seen the Lord forsake a man who loves him;
nor have I seen the children of the godly go hungry.
Instead, the godly are able to be generous with their gifts and loans to others,
and their children are a blessing.

Saw The Lookalikes of Kim & Trump At Bugis Village, Singapore.

Over in Singapore, my friends took us to Bugis Village. I remembered Bugis Street from one of my early visits to Singapore. That was about 39 years ago. It was then known internationally for its nightly gathering of trans women which made it one of the top tourist destinations during that time. In mid 1980's Bugis Street underwent major urban redevelopment and this is what I saw on my recent visit.
This was where we saw the lookalikes of Kim & Trump.
They were at the far end of this passage.
There was a big crowd surrounding them.
It says "Bugis Village" (up on the wall)
We were preparing to cross over to the other side.
My friends led the way and I just followed.
We stopped to buy some curry puffs for snack.
Interesting to see them cooking behind the glass partition.
 Bread and pastries
We needed a rest and stopped for a drink at the Food Junction.
Looking down from above, we could see the lookalikes of Kim and Trump!

People queued up to take photos with the lookalikes of Kim and Trump.
Behind the crowd is the Intercontinental Hotel.

Back at the Singapore check point.
Just look at the number of motorcyclists queuing up to cross over to Johor Bahru.

There is an old saying that "A dog comes back to what he has vomited,
and a pig is washed only to come back and wallow in the mud again."
That is the way it is with those who turn again to their sin.
