Pork Ribs Wanton Noodle & Sui Kow @ Comeson Restaurant, Ipoh

One morning we found a few of our regular coffee shops in town closed and we ended up in a nearby shop which sells tasty wanton noodles. We have been here a few times before. The wanton mee here is good too.
The wanton noodles stall is here at Comeson (Gold Mountain in Cantonese) Restaurant & Hotel. In the morning, it is the only noodle stall operating here.
The stall is at the side of the shop.
They have sweet sour pork rib and preserved salted bean pork rib.
We ordered the sweet sour pork rib noodle for me and the preserved salted bean pork rib for hubby. Pickled green chilies in soy sauce is always served with wanton noodles.
I ordered 2 sui kow, one for hubby and one for me.
I love to eat sui kow with lots of ingredients in it.
Dry version (kon loh) wanton noodle with blanched Chinese cabbage. The noodles were served separately from the stewed pork rib.
Total cost of breakfast for 2 people MYR 10.
The tall building at the back is the newly built "The Majestic" building.
Comeson Restaurant is a corner shop next to the Restoran Tauge Ayam Ong Kee, located along Jalan Yau Tet Shin, Ipoh.
For supper, hubby bought these yummy woo kok (yam puffs). These were bought from a road side stall. It only starts business around 10 pm and the woo kok supply is limited.
Personally, I think these woo kok taste much better than those sold in some of the dim sun restaurants in town.

Witnesses At Land Office Batu Gajah.

I received a phone call last Sunday night requesting my hubby and I to stand as witnesses for a friend. We agreed to help her and we needed to present ourselves at the Batu Gajah Land Office last Monday morning at 10.15 am.
Since our Penang trip, I was still tired and didn't go for the morning exercise.
We decided to sleep in and woke up late on Monday morning.
After watering my garden, we went for a quick breakfast.
Passed by here on our way to Batu Gajah. We used the Ipoh-Lumut highway.
A short excerpt from Wikipedia on Batu Gajah:
"The name Batu Gajah ('batu' is stone and 'gajah' is elephant in the Malay language), is presumably derived from two large boulders that resembled elephants found along the Kinta River. Folklore claims that hugh elephants figures were made of stones to scare away the elephants that destroyed the villages' sugar cane crops."
This is Batu Gajah courthouse.
My first time stepping into the compound of the courthouse.
The land office is in the same compound as the court house.
We were on time but our friends were late. While waiting for them, I occupied myself looking for things to photograph.
Found these giant tin bars (imitations???)
A dredge bucket next to the shady tree where we waited for our friends.
 Side view....
 An anchor.....
\It was a hot, humid morning and I was sweating profusely.
My friends were more than half an hour late. After 2 phone calls, they were still no where to be seen. Surprisingly, as I grow older my patience also seems to grow. It was not so when I was younger.

"May God who gives patience, steadiness, and encouragement
help you to live in complete harmony with each other -
each with the attitude of Christ toward the other.
And then all of us can praise the Lord together with one voice,
giving glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."
(Romans 15:5-6, TLB)
As it was our first time here, I looked around and found the waiting room on the 1st floor where we can sit under the fan.
Those that came earlier or were on time have submitted their forms to the clerk at the counter. Our friends were late in submitting their forms and they got a bigger number. For being late, we all have to wait for almost 4 hours in the warm waiting room before we can go home.

Breakfast At Pulau Tikus (Rat Island), Penang.

After the wake service on Friday night, we stayed back for a time of fellowship with the others. By the time we returned to the condominium, it was time to retire for the night. I was physically tired but I couldn't sleep well even with my own pillow. I did get some sleep in between waking and by 4.30 am I was wide awake.
I tried to do some reading in the living room hoping not to disturb the others from their sleep. By 7.30 am on Saturday morning, we were ready to check out. It was time to go for our breakfast. We have to be back at the church before 10 am for the funeral service.
We drove to Pulau Tikus suburb to look for our breakfast somewhere near the market.

Here is a short excerpt from Wikipedia: "Tikus (Rat) Island is a suburb in George Town city in Penang Island, Malaysia. This upper class residential neighbourhood is named after the actual Tikus island which is a rocky outcrop 2 km off the northeast coast of Penang Island, just opposite Tanjung Tokong. This particular island is shaped like a mouse and is believed to be infested with rats."
We came to a corner shop named 77 Restoran Food Yard facing the Jalan Burma Police Station. I ordered a bowl of Koay Teow (flat rice noodle) Soup with a mixture of goodies (liew).
My mistake! I forgot to mention that I didn't want the internal organs e.g. liver, coagulated pig's blood, etc. I left all these behind. I just took the fish balls, meat slices & minced pork.
Mr & Mrs B shared a plate of Penang Char Koay Teow.
Hubby's herbal duck soup noodle.
We were the early ones to reach the church. After the funeral service and sending off were over, we had lunch in a restaurant, and the name sounds something like "Tian Tian" or "Everyday restaurant".
We made our way to the 1st Penang bridge safely with the help of GPS and its a smooth drive all the way home to Ipoh.

Thanking God for safe journey to and fro.
The high and lofty One who inhabits eternity,
the Holy One, says this: I live in that high and
holy place where those with contrite, humble spirits dwell;
and I refresh the humble and
give new courage to those with repentant hearts.
