Breakfast At Pulau Tikus (Rat Island), Penang.

After the wake service on Friday night, we stayed back for a time of fellowship with the others. By the time we returned to the condominium, it was time to retire for the night. I was physically tired but I couldn't sleep well even with my own pillow. I did get some sleep in between waking and by 4.30 am I was wide awake.

 I tried to do some reading in the living room hoping not to disturb the others from their sleep. By 7.30 am on Saturday morning, we were ready to check out. It was time to go for our breakfast. We have to be back at the church before 10 am for the funeral service.

We drove to Pulau Tikus suburb to look for our breakfast somewhere near the market. 

Here is a short excerpt from Wikipedia: "Tikus (Rat) Island is a suburb in George Town city in Penang Island, Malaysia. This upper class residential neighbourhood is named after the actual Tikus island which is a rocky outcrop 2 km off the northeast coast of Penang Island, just opposite Tanjung Tokong. This particular island is shaped like a mouse and is believed to be infested with rats."

We came to a corner shop named 77 Restoran Food Yard facing the Jalan Burma Police Station. I ordered a bowl of Koay Teow (flat rice noodle) Soup with a mixture of goodies (liew).

My mistake! I forgot to mention that I didn't want the internal organs e.g. liver, coagulated pig's blood, etc. I left all these behind. I just took the fish balls, meat slices & minced pork.

We were the early ones to reach the church. After the funeral service and sending off were over, we had lunch in a restaurant, and the name sounds something like "Tian Tian" or "Everyday restaurant".

We made our way to the 1st Penang bridge safely with the help of GPS and its a smooth drive all the way home to Ipoh.

Thanking God for safe journey to and fro.
