Hyacinth Bean Soup & Steamed Pork Rib With Cauliflower

This was 2 Tuesdays ago. This was another one of the hot and humid days we are having here.

Beautiful sunrise at 7:06am.
Golden sunrise at 7:26am.
Morning sky at 7:27am.
Clear blue sky and white cloud.
Simple home prepared breakfast.
We had half boiled eggs, toast and jam.
Milo kosong for hubby and Bru coffee with nestum for me
For lunch, we had glutinous rice dumplings (bak chang).
These are the smaller bak chang and just nice for a not so heavy lunch.
The bak chang filling consist of mung beans, salted egg yolk and pork. We have been buying these at RM11 for 3 bak changs. We were informed that very likely they will have to increase the price due to the increasing prices of raw materials.

When the weather is hot and humid, my kitchen becomes like an sauna room. I have a mini fan in the kitchen but it doesn't help much. I will be sweating away and my t-shirt will be all wet. So, to spend less time in the kitchen, I tried to cook dishes with less preparation time.
Steamed pork rib with salted black beans with the cauliflower as base in a metal plate.
Soup:  Green hyacinth beans (pang pei dau), carrot, red dates, goji berries, and chicken bones. Cooking soup is easy. I just dump everything into a pressure cooker. Once it reached high pressure, I let it slow cook for 25 to 30 minutes over low fire. In this way, it taste like authentic soup cooked the traditional way and it also helps to save gas.
This steamed pork rib dish and the soup is an appetizing combination for a warm and sweaty evening.
My bauhinia kockiana clusters in different shades of yellow and orange.

I received the following photos from my friend.
She saw this monitor lizard in the drain outside her house.
Photos credited to Shirley T.
If I see this, I don't know whether I have the courage to take these snapshots.

Don't be impatient.
Wait for the Lord, and he will come and save you!
Be brave, stouthearted and courageous.
Yes, wait and he will help you.

Noodle With Curry For Lunch & Wanton Noodle For Dinner

Another warm and humid morning. The sky looked like it was going to rain but there was no rain at all.

Morning sky at 7:45am.
Before returning home from morning walk, we walked to the shop to buy the above items for breakfast.
Pretty yellow flowers hanging over the concrete wall of the garden of a house that we pass by every morning.
Chamaecytisus supinus as identified by Lens Google.
~~~~~
Lunch
To heat up the leftover rendang pork and potato, I steamed it covered.
I cooked 2 packets of instant Indomie noodle.
I also steamed the one and only curry chicken bun that was left in the fridge.
~~~~~
Dinner
Feeling tired and lazy due to the hot and humid weather, not in the mood to cook.
Hubby went out to buy wonton noodle from Buntong.
Add extra wonton or meat dumplings.
For wonton noodle, pickled green chili is a must for me.
This was our dinner.
We have been eating this wonton noodle for many years. The first generation has retired and now the business is run by the daughter and son.
Sunset at 7:33pm.
In time to catch the sunset when I took the garbage out.
On the opposite side.
Evening sky over the Kledang Hill at 7:35pm.

The LORD's Future Reign
In the last days, the mountain of the LORD's house
will be the highest of all - the most important place on earth.
It will be raised above the other hills,
and people from all over the world will stream there to worship.

Fried Fish, Angled Luffa, Daikon + Carrot Soup

This was 2 Mondays ago. Weather was hot and humid.

Fluffy cottony sky at 7:50am.
For breakfast, we had glutinous rice dumpling and leftover rice porridge.
This was our breakfast. I had mine with unsweetened black coffee and hubby had his with milo.
Angled luffa waiting to be harvested in my garden.
These were the first 2 luffa harvested from the vines. Each luffa measured about 1.5 feet. I will be cooking these luffa for dinner.
Received a comb of banana from our neighbour.
Angled luffa cooked with garlic, dried shrimp and egg.
Fried grouper slice topped with fried ginger strips, garlic oil & soy sauce.
Soup: Daikon, carrot, red dates, goji berries, and pork bones.
Soup is good for hot and humid weather.
Dinner: 3 dishes with steamed rice.
After cooking dinner, I have to take a rest, dry my sweat and take a bath before I can settle down to enjoy my dinner in comfort.

Lord, you know the hopes of humble people.
Surely you will hear their cries and
comfort their hearts by helping them.
You will be with the orphans and all who are oppressed,
so that mere earthly man will terrify them no longer.

Chicken Rice, Stuffed Fish With Plain Rice Porridge

This was one Friday morning. Another warm and humid day.

Dawn at 6:50am.
Lovely golden sunrise at 7:10am.
7:15am - facing Kledang Hill (west).
Going south - 7:16am
7:20am
Kledang Hill.
7:30am
~~~~~
Thought of chicken rice so hubby went out to buy 2 packets.
Chicken rice with char siew (bbq pork).
Hubby requested for the plain white rice.
This round we have lots of self propagated cockscomb plants in our front garden and they are all flowering.
Simple dinner with plain rice porridge, canned braised peanuts, pickled lettuce, and stuffed fish.
My neighbour bought 2 stuffed fish for us when she went out to buy lunch. I cut off the heads and tails from the fishes to fit into the metal plate. To heat up for dinner, I steamed the fishes covered.
If you will only listen and obey the commandments of the Lord
your God that I am giving you today,
he will make you the head and not the tail,
and you shall always have the upper hand.
But each of these blessings depends on your not turning aside
in any way from the laws I have given you;
and you must never worship other gods.
(Deuteronomy 28:13-14, The Living Bible-TLB)
