No Access To Internet

Part of the roof of my house got blown off by a freak storm on Monday, 17th April. My Internet line was cut off so I won't be posting anything until the roof has been replaced and internet line is restored.

Big Yellow Cucumber Harvested From My Garden

On this particular morning, I walked out to the side garden to check on the yellow cucumber plant as hubby has told me that one of the yellow cucumber is due for harvest. I was surprised to see the size of the yellow cucumber. I told hubby to wait 1 to 2 more days to harvest the yellow cucumber. There are altogether 3 yellow cucumbers hanging from the vine.

Starting from this smallest out of the 3 yellow cucumbers.
This is the 2nd largest of the 3 yellow cucumbers.
And this is the largest and due for harvest.
Looking forward to cook soup with this yellow cucumber.
And the snake beans are also due for harvest. I like snake beans cooked with garlic and salt and add water to cook till the beans are soft.
These were harvested a few days later.

I, Jesus,
have sent my angel to you to tell the churches all these things.
I am both David's Root and his Descendant.
I am the bright Morning Star.
The Spirit and the bride say, 'Come.'
Let each one who hears them say the same, 'Come.'
Let the thirsty one come - anyone who wants to;
let him come and drink the Water of Life without charge.

Guzmania Flower & Kacang Putih Processing Machine

After a long spell of hot weather, we finally had a heavy downpour yesterday evening. That helped to cool down the temperature.

Sunrise at 7:05am.

Currently, good news is that I am now sleeping better and have better appetite. Three more days, I will be going to the hospital for the pre-chemo blood test.
A few mornings ago, I took a walk into my side garden and found my Guzmania plant blooming. I will have to remind hubby to feed it some fertilizer.

And why worry about your clothes?
Look at the field lilies! They don't worry about theirs.
Yet King Solomon in all his glory was not clothed as beautifully as they.
And if God cares so wonderfully for flowers
that are here today and gone tomorrow,
won't he more surely care for you, O men of little faith?
(Matthew 6:28-30, The Living Bible-TLB)
On my return from the hospital after the chemo treatment, we passed by this roundabout with this interesting structure. It is a structure of an Indian snack (kacang putih) processing equipment. Hubby had to make another round around the roundabout for me to get another snapshot of the structure.
This structure in the roundabout is in an area which is well known for its many variety of Indian snacks (kacang putih) being processed and sold here. Many from other places outside of Ipoh will come here to buy some Indian snacks whenever they are in Ipoh.

First Time Tasting Yellow Dragon Fruit

These days, the days are hot and sweaty. Some evenings we will get heavy downpour. Some evenings we only get to hear the rumbling of thunder and maybe a few drops of rain. When there is no rain, we will have to rely on the air-conditioner in our room to sleep.

Sunrise at 7:30am.
On this particular morning, I went to the garden to take a look at the plants. This bitter lettuce plant is growing taller than me.
My red and green algaenoma still surviving.
~~~~~
My sister-in-law's daughter and her friend dropped by to visit us on her way to Penang. My sister-in-law sent lots of goodies to us and the yellow dragon fruit and plums (below) were among them.
The first time I saw this yellow dragon fruit and its plant was when we visited a farm up on a hill in Gopeng. The red skin dragon fruit is more common and easily found. So far I haven't seen this yellow dragon fruit being sold anywhere. I was told that this fruit costs about RM20.
Yesterday, I washed the skin of the whole fruit, cut it into halves. I scooped out the flesh of one half and tasted it. It was very sweet and juicy and the seeds crunchy. I gave the other half to hubby to taste. Good thing the flesh is white because he refused to touch the red flesh dragon fruit. Lol!
My good friend Aislynn shared some snapshots of murals painted by her cousin sister Julie Chong. Julie Chong is a talented artist and she has painted many murals in other countries as well.
#1 mural, credited to Julie Chong.
For the first mural, I chose this from many others because I like the cute little birds.
Your words are what sustain me; they are food to my hungry soul.
They bring joy to my sorrowing heart and delight me.
How proud I am to bear your name, O Lord.
Hardy Cactus From My Garden
Hello friends, I am back again!
In case you are wondering what happened to me, it is just that for the past few days, I will be feeling sleepy and will be napping throughout the day. Some days, I will be feeling wide awake and slept very little. This is probably some of the minor side effects of the chemo treatment.
Morning sky at 6:45am
Some mornings, I will wake up very early and if I remember, I will go out to check on the sunrise and snap some photos. Recently, I went out to the garden to check on the plants. Many plants have been neglected and left to fend for themselves. Hubby only has the time to water them.
The plants that are doing well and growing bigger are my cactus plants. The above has grown bigger.
The one above has grown more babies.
This photo was from the year 2021. Can you see the grasshopper clinging on the green brinjal? This morning I harvested some green brinjals or eggplants or aubergines from my garden.
I think this is the same grasshopper. Since then, I haven't seen any grasshopper visiting our garden.
The Lord's my Shepherd I'll not want
He makes me lie in pastures green
He leads me by the still still waters
His goodness restores my soul
Chorus:
And I will trust in You alone 2x
For Your endless mercy follows me
Your goodness will lead me home
He guides my ways in righteousness
And He anoints my head with oil
And my cup it overflows with joy
I feast on His pure delights
And though I walk the darkest path
I will not fear the evil one
For You are with me
And Your rod and staff
Are the comfort I need to know
