A friend delivered some home made glutinous rice dumplings to us before the dumpling festival. For the past few years she has been blessing us with her home made glutinous rice dumplings.

Glutinous Rice Dumplings Coloured With Blue Pea
I steamed to heat up the dumplings for breakfast after we returned from our morning walk. The dumplings were not big, so I added 2 pieces of toast.
As you can see, half the rice used was blue (from the blue pea flower).
Very delicious and tasty dumpling.
Some of the ingredients used: Black eyed beans, dried shrimp, mushroom, diced pork, and etc.
Morning sky at 9:35am.
Hubby went out to buy Indian rice. The fried chicken from this stall is very popular with the locals. There used to be long queue but due to lockdown, the queue is shorter now.

Dinner
There was another portion of stewed chicken feet with mushroom in the fridge, which I heated up for dinner.
It tasted better after being kept overnight in the fridge.
Blanched home grown sweet potato leaves and 1 last long green okra, drizzled with garlic oil, oyster and soy sauce.
Simple dinner with noodle.

Kopisan Lai Fun (Rice Noodle) & Stewed Chicken Feet
This was a Thursday morning. It was warm and there was hardly any breeze.
Sunrise at 7:00am
Starting of our morning walk.
Sunrise at 7:28am.
~~~~~
We drove out to town to buy breakfast.
We bought 2 portions of rice noodle (Kopisan lai fun) with some fish balls and fish cakes.
We also bought some fried crackers and fried stuffed bean curd sheet aka as "liew".
Curry paste oil as condiment.
We like to add the curry paste oil to the soup.
A very enjoyable and filling breakfast for 2 people.
Sunset bells in my garden.
Morning sky at 9:55am.
~~~~~
Dinner.
I stewed chicken feet with mushrooms. The cabbage was added later. No other dish because I had some leftover pumpkin + carrot curry in the fridge
I steamed some rice for hubby while I ate bread dipped in the curry.

BBQ Pork Noodle & Pumpkin Carrot Curry
It was a Wednesday morning. The following snapshots were taken on our morning walk.
7:02am - ahead of us, reflection of sunrise.
7:09am, ahead of us.
7:10am, on our right.
7:11am, ahead of us.
~~~~~
Breakfast
We had leftover home made bbq pork from previous day's dinner.
I cooked dried noodle and heated up the bbq pork.
Boiled water to make 2-in-in black coffee.
BBQ pork noodle and black coffee for breakfast.
~~~~~
Dinner
I wanted to cook curry with potatoes and carrots but found out that the potatoes have sprouted and have to discard them.
So I ended up cooking pumpkin, carrot and chicken meat curry with a packet of ready made paste.
I love salted egg with curries, so I boiled 1 salted duck egg.
After handing over a portion of curry to my neighbour, we sat down to enjoy our dinner.
How could he?
For certainly he has never been one to know the Lord's thoughts,
or to discuss them with him, or to move the hands of God by prayer.
But, strange as it seems, we Christians actually do have within us
a portion of the very thoughts and mind of Christ.

Home Made "Melt In The Mouth" BBQ Pork
This was last Tuesday. I captured a few morning sky shots before we started out on our morning walk.
Morning sky at 7:01am
Dreamy morning sky.

One snapshot while walking.
~~~~~
Breakfast
2 half boiled eggs, 2 pieces of bread with coconut jam (kaya) and hot milo for hubby.
2 pieces of toast with peanut jam and apricot jam and hot milo for me.
~~~~~
Dinner
Home made "melt in the mouth" bbq pork.
Cook the pre-marinated pork belly (kept overnight in the fridge) together with the marinate sauce in non-stick pan. Added some water to dilute the sauce in the pan. Cook over medium fire until it started to boil, then let it simmer covered over low fire. Check frequently to make sure the sauce doesn't dry out. Turn to cook the pork on both sides. Once the pork belly is cooked and soft enough, off the fire.
Cut the cooled bbq pork belly and kept aside one portion for our neighbour.
Kept the bbq sauce in a separate bowl. If sauce is too thick, add some water and cook over a fire.
Sauteed napa cabbage + carrot with garlic and salt.
Getting ready for photography session.
Poured the bbq sauce over the bbq pork and let's eat!
To keep ourselves connected, my foodie friends and I will post and share photos of our meals on our Whatsapp chat group.
Mangoes for dessert.
Our day ended with this evening sky at 7:20pm.

Saturday's Ctitters
Baby grasshopper.
I saw a strange big ant on the trash bag which I haven't seen before. I used Google Lens app and it was identified as the Green Tree Ant. Information from the internet says that its sting is poisonous and can cause a strong allergic reaction that often leads to an anaphylactic shock. Before it could get away, I quickly flatten it. I hope its nest is not anywhere near my house. So far, so good, until now there has been no more sighting of this type of ant.

Thankful For The Food And Fruits Gifts
Since we can only start our morning walk at 7am, I tried to sleep and wake up later but it seems that my biological clock has been set and cannot be reset. To pass the time while waiting, I will read news and check messages on my hand phone. If it is still early, I will sweep the porch area and take snapshots of the morning sky.
Pink sunrise at 6:58am.
Sunrise partially hidden by dark cloud at 7:30am.
No more dark cloud at 7:33am.
Golden sunrise at 7:37am.
Starting of a warm day.
~~~~~
Breakfast at home.
A friend gave us 4 home made glutinous rice dumplings (bak chang). I took out 2 from the fridge to steam for breakfast.
These 2 were peanuts and red beans "chang" or vegetarian dumplings.
Very yummy dumplings.
We had Chinese tea with the dumplings.
Bigger than palm size hibiscus from my garden.
4 cup cakes individually wrapped in plastic bag.
Ready cooked sweet sour black pomfret in plastic container, kept for dinner.
Ready cooked stewed preserved vegetable with pork belly in plastic container, kept for dinner.
~~~~~
Lunch
Cup cake with "tong sui"
I cooked sweet drink (tong sui) consisting of peach gum, dried longan, honey dates, red dates, goji berries, rock sugar and pandan leaves.
From left to right: 2 green guavas, 2 mangoes, 5 apples, and some Jackfruits. So thoughtful and generous of our friend. This is more than a week's supply of fruits for us.
~~~~~
Dinner
All I have to do was to heat up what my neighbour bought for us.
Sweet sour black pomfret.
Preserved vegetable (mui choy) with pork.
I just did a quick stir fry the beansprout and chives with garlic and salt to taste.
There was a little bit of this and that left behind. Not wanting to throw away food, the municipal trash bin (me) cleared up everything to avoid any leftover for the next day.
What joys when sins are covered over!
What relief for those who have confessed their sins
and God has cleared their record.
