Entertainment & Activities During Lockdown

We all need some kind of entertainment or activities during lockdown. Stay with me and I will show you some of the ways I entertain myself or keep me active during the series of lockdown.

#1 - Taking sky shots.
Morning sky at 6:45am, no morning walk.
~~~~~
#2 - Taking snapshots of our meals.
This was my breakfast.
No photo to show hubby's breakfast because he had his earlier.
2 pieces of toast with peanut jam.
Cucumber slices with sesame dressing, just to clear the unused cucumber slices from the fridge.
~~~~~
#3 - Spending time in my garden.
This is how I protect the figs from the birds.
I punched holes in the used plastic bags and used them to protect the figs.
I placed the plastic bag over each fig and pulled the string to secure and tie it to the stem.
With this method, at least I get to taste and enjoy some of the figs. If I delay in harvesting the over ripe figs, the ants and fruit flies will get to them.
#4 - Getting to taste the produce of my garden.
Nice to eat it when freshly plucked from the plant.
~~~~~
#5 - Keeping my mind active thinking of ways to prepare food.
My neighbour gave me 4 jagung or sweet corn. I removed the kernels from the cob. After steaming the kernels, I stirred in some butter and salt to taste. It makes a delicious snack or lunch.
~~~~~
#6 - Diligent in jaws exercising by eating lots of delicious fruits.
#7 - Exciting my taste buds to do their job properly.
Sweet like honey.
~~~~~
#8 - Sweating out in the kitchen (my personal gym or sauna)
No rice dinner.
For this evening, the cook was in overdrive mood and cooked 4 dishes for dinner.
I decided to steam the last 2 pieces of fish using chopped garlic and ginger strips.
Hubby not keen on the steamed fish, so I fried onion omelette.
Sauteed napa cabbage and carrot with garlic and salt to taste.
I had some thawed pork belly slices in the fridge, so I fried crispy pork slices. They are best eaten with sweet Thai chili sauce.
#9 - Feeding and giving my whole digestive system a good workout.
Okay, these should be enough for this post.
Rattan basket on a pulley system.
In the old days, this method was used by shop keepers to keep cash during the business hours. The basket can be pulled down and released. This method was also used for transferring of items between the upper floor where the stock was kept and the ground floor (shop) without the workmen having to go up and down the stairs.
Work hard so God can say to you, "Well done."
Be a good workman, one who does not need to be ashamed
when God examines your work.
Know that his Word says and means.
(2 Timothy 2:15, The Living Bible-TLB)
  4. I like your napa cabbage and carrot dish the best! The steamed fish is next. Good idea to reuse plastic bags and raffia strings to keep the figs safe. How many figs have you harvested and eaten so far for this batch?
    1. Thank you, Mun. I think I managed to harvest about half of the figs and lost all the figs to the birds.
  9. Those are excellent activities during Lock Down. We were lucky to get our second shot a week ago. THis has meant my son will be travelling to work in Tahiti for 3 weeks in the next month. Home for a week and then on to the next port! My busy days well get busier, as I will also get to do the yard chores he has taken on. I will be cooking much less (yeah!) as we are moving into the hot season.The morning walks are my favorite time of day! I should publish some of those photos on the blog instead of instagram. Thanks for visiting us! And we LOVE reading your blog.
