Chee Cheong Fun, Popiah & Chicken Chop Rice With Cucumber Pickle

By now I am getting a bit confused because there seem to be overlapping MCOs for us in Ipoh. So for us Ipohites, if there are conflicting sop, then it is safer to follow whichever is stricter to avoid getting a fine from the authority. Today is the last day of EMCO for us. So from tomorrow onwards we will follow the sop for the FMCO aka the Total Lockdown, until further notice. The only difference is that we can go out for our morning walk but we can only do so after 7am.

The following morning sky photos were taken before EMCO.

Morning sky at 6:45am, outside my house.
Morning sky at 6:55am, at the nearby shops.
This is the best time for walking, when we have the whole streets to ourselves (almost).
Pink sky at 7am, at the nearby shops.

Breakfast.
Our favourite chee cheong fun (steamed flat rice rolls with dried shrimp) from Canning Garden. Generous toppings of crispy fried shallot, sesame seeds, green chili pickle, shallot oil and soy sauce.
Self-propagated cockscomb plants outside my house.
Popiah lunch, blessing from our neighbour.
Dessert: home made guilinggao (herbal jelly).
~~~~~
My neighbour called and told me,
 "No need to cook dinner, I have ordered 2 sets of dinner for you".
Rice with cucumber pickle (2 pax)
Hainanese style chicken chop (2 pax)
The rice given was big portion, so we kept half of each pax in the fridge.
We can fried it for the next meal.
Hainese style chicken chop rice with appetizing cucumber pickle.
Thanks to our neighbour, it was a wonderful and satisfying dinner.
My son, honey whets the appetite and so does wisdom!
When you enjoy becoming wise, there is hope for you!
A bright future lies ahead!
  1. Total lockdown for you but exercise permitted - it's a good way to keep things in check.
  3. I find it strange that some states that are under EMCO did not revert immediately into full lockdown. Anyway, at least under full lockdown we are allowed to exercise outside unlike during 2020. But I feel 7:00 am is too late, I would prefer at least 6:00am as there are less people exercising in my neighborhood.
  8. I am equally confused by all the sops for different states so I just focus on my area. I thought the hours are 8 am to 8 pm. I like cockscomb flowers when they grow into a ball. Is it easy to grow? Can I buy their seeds from a garden nursery and just randomly sprinkle them on the ground for them to grow?
    1. Business hours is 8am to 8pm. For outdoor activities is 7am to 8pm. Yes, the cockscomb flower seeds are sold in the nursery. They grow easily without much care.
  23. We have overlapping stages of MCO, different areas with different SOPs. Inter-district travel restrictions when nobody knows district boundaries. And Google actually gives me 3 different districts where my home could be, depending which site I go. No wonder everyone is confused!
