Pay Traffic Summon Followed By Lunch At Restoran Fu Lim.

Last week we came to know that we can pay outstanding traffic summons at a 50% discount from 29th to 31st January. I didn't think much about it because I thought I didn't have any summon that I haven't paid. I usually pay up whatever summons as soon as I received it through the registered mail.

A few days later, my friend and I were at the UTC to pay our bills. My friend wanted to check if she has any outstanding summon at the PDRM (police) stall. Since we were there, I too submit our cars' registration numbers to be checked. To our disappointment, we both have outstanding summons to pay. How come we didn't receive these summons through the registered mail? My friend and I decided to pay on the first day i.e. 29th January (Tuesday).
Waiting for my friend to pick me up at 8.30 am.
We were given numbers 143 & 144. Seats, air coolers and free mineral water were provided for customers to sit comfortable under tents. While waiting for our numbers to be called, we made new friends with those sitting next to us.
Everything was going smoothly until the server system crashed at the headquarter level.
We didn't know how long we have to wait. For those who have questions, they can approached the officers concerning issues with summons or any police issues. It was the police meeting with their clients special day.
We were encouraged to check out the various stalls e.g. items on display, get some free medication and eyes checkups, etc.
Instead of just sitting and waiting, we decided to take a walk to check out the stalls.
I got interested in these. A giant bike and a dwarf bike.
I have to wait for other interested onlookers to disperse before I could take these snapshots.
After waiting for about an hour, the server system was finally working again. Good thing we waited and didn't go home or else we will have to return the next day. In no time, our summons were discounted and paid up.

We were looking forward to lunch because we didn't have any breakfast.
My friend's hubby joined us for lunch and he suggested Restoran Fu Lim.
Flavourful soy sauce thinly sliced pork belly with garlic.
Sweet potato leaves with sambal belacan (spicy prawn paste).
Tilapia fish cooked in clay pot.
A delicious meal for 3 people.

Dinner At Hoy Seng Kitchen, Aeon Falim, Ipoh.

It was a Saturday evening in the middle of this month (January) that 6 of us gathered at Aeon Falim. Initially, we have no idea what we want to eat for dinner. Once we met up at Aeon Falim, we decided on Hoy Seng Kitchen. This was the first visit for most of us. We ordered a set dinner for 4 people and add-on some extra dishes.
 The set dinner consists of:
#1 - A pot of yam rice.
Even the 6 of us could hardly finish this pot of rice.
 #2 - Cuttlefish balls soup
#3 - Stuffed dried bean curd (bean curd puffs)
#4 - Herbal jelly which I forgot to snap a picture to show.
And we added the following 3 dishes.
 a) Blanched green vegetable.
b) Chilled pork with appetizing salad
 c) Deep fried pork
The set dinner we ordered is on the right - RM 39.00
Someone blessed us with this dinner treat.
Took this snapshot before the place was filled up.
We were one of the early birds.
The dinner crowds started to fill up the place when our food was ordered.

But a good man will be satisfied from above.

Roof Blown Off By Strong Wind.

This incident happened a week after the New Year. There was heavy downpour with exceptionally strong wind blowing. All of a sudden we heard a crashing sound behind my house. I was in the kitchen and I opened the back window to take a look. Somebody's roof has been blown off and one big piece landed on the back lane.

Hubby was busy closing the air-well windows in the 2nd hall which we used as dinner hall. Suddenly water started pouring through the ceiling of the 2nd hall like a waterfall! Then it dawned on me that it was our roof that has gotten blown off! Quickly we shifted our dinning table away from the rain water pouring down from the ceiling. Thankful that the ceiling of the 2nd hall remained intact and suffered no damage.

We could only pray and wait for the to stop. Meanwhile, hubby called up the contractor and he promised to come over the next morning to see what he can do about it. Our prayer was there will be no rain until our roof has been fixed and that the contractor will be able to fix our roof.
The rain finally stopped about an hour later and the mopping work started. We went behind our house to retrieve the blown off piece of our roof and we noticed that another piece had landed on the roof above our kitchen.
That was the damage done to the roof over the air-well. A few of our neighbours' roof were also affected. Thank God, the damages were not serious and everything was fixed within a short time.
After that, everything was quiet and peaceful. We thank God that there was no injuries except for some minor damages to our roof.
That evening, we went to a nearby restaurant for a light Indian dinner. Hubby ordered roti telur or Indian bread with egg added. It was served with various curry gravy.
I ordered a capati (Indian bread) with spicy sambal.
Our dinner for that eventful evening.
Next morning, the sky was nice and clear.
As usual, we went for our morning walk and after that, we still had time for breakfast.
Hubby's breakfast - pig's stomach with white radish noodle.
My breakfast - pork noodle with fried lard floating in the soup.
Saw this electric bike outside the coffee shop after our breakfast.

Contractor putting back one of the flown off roof piece.
Thank God the contractor and his worker did a good job in fixing our roof and made sure that all were securely fixed.
Another contractor fixing our neighbour's roof. Some of her roof tiles got blown off.
Within a few hours everything was fixed.
That afternoon I went to Mr. DIY store and found this anti-oil splatter.
Testing out the anti-oil splatter when I fried some fishes. It is not very effective because the mesh were not closely knitted enough. Some oil still got splattered through the mesh.

Betel Set - includes 5 small containers, a box for sirih (betel-vine leaves) and a pair of gold-plated betel-nut scissors. 2 of the small containers have lids and are shaped like mangosteens. The containers are used to hold the materials for taking betel, namely betel nuts, gambler, tabacco, cloves and lime. The sirih box is for keeping the betel-vine leaves so that the whole set will be organized and tidy.

Before the lunch started, we posed for some group photos.
This year we welcomed a young lady into our group.
Yellow is the theme for the annual lunch gathering.
Coincidentally, the table cloth was also yellow.
From us to you:

" WISHING YOU A
HAPPY & BLESSED CHINESE NEW YEAR! "

I will look on you with favor and make you fruitful and
increase your numbers, and I will keep my covenant with you.
You will still be eating last year's harvest
when you will have to move it out to make room for the new.
I will put my dwelling place among you, and I will not abhor you.
