Fish Slices + Seaweed With Thick Rice Vermicelli Noodle

One this particular morning, we woke up quite early.

Sunrise at 6:50am
We were ready to start our morning walk.
But first, let me take some snapshots.
The moonlight lit up the place.
Not a very clear picture due to the poor lighting at 6:55am.
Our Bauhinia Kockiana in full bloom.
~~~~~
We had breakfast appointment with my ex-colleagues and friends.
A friend and I ordered this thick rice vermicelli with grouper fish slices and seaweed.
Hubby ordered pig stomach noodle.
Another friend ordered shredded chicken noodle - no photo.
We ordered a plate of chee cheong fun for sharing.
We also ordered roasted pork to share - no photo.
~~~~~
Simple home cooked dinner.
"Lala Otak-otak"
A friend gave 2 packs of "otak-otak". I took out 1 pack for dinner. I finished the whole thing because hubby doesn't like.
Hubby had most of this wild boar curry (RM10) bought from a nearby Indian stall.
I only need to cook the above dish: Pumpkin with dried shrimp, ginger slices and chopped garlic.
A satisfying dinner with steamed brown rice.

For the Lord says, "Because he loves me, I will rescue him;
I will make him great because he trusts in my name.
When he calls on me, I will answer;
I will be with him in trouble and rescue him and honor him.
I will satisfy him with a full life and give him my salvation."

Shredded Chicken, Pig's Stomach Noodles & Braised Large Intestine

We woke up early and were ready for our morning walk early.

Early morning sky at 6:50am.
Sunrise at 6:51am
~~~~~
We drove to Kedai Kopi Xin Tai You at Jalan Sri Adika for breakfast.
We haven't been there for a long, long time. We were one of the early customers that morning.
Shredded chicken (no prawn) noodle flat rice noodle (kai si hor fun) for me.
Ordered a small plate of braised large intestine.
This was for hubby.
Pig stomach, radish & pepper soup noodle for hubby.
Peace Lilies in my garden.
Beautiful pure white lilies.
Hubby went out to meet his friends and came back with the above deep fried nian gao. It is sticky glutinous cake sandwiched with sweet potato and taro, dipped in batter and deep fried. It is nice to eat while it is still hot. When you take a bite, the sticky glutinous cake will ooze out. Next time, I hope to remember to take a picture to show the cross section.
I was trying to take a nap in the afternoon when I was disturbed by some loud noise outside my house. I looked out and saw that there was some kind of work being carried out to clear water drainage blockages in our area.
Do you want more and more of God's kindness and peace?
Then learn to know him better and better.
For as you know him better, he will give you, through his great power,
everything you need for living a truly good life:
he even shares his own glory and his own goodness with us!
Pickled Vegetable And Roast Pork Bones Soup
No morning walk on this Saturday morning because there was a light drizzle.
Morning sky at 7:45am.
~~~~~
For breakfast, we wanted to try a new place that a friend recommended. The name of the coffee shop is Sunrise Restaurant, a corner shop. When we were checking in, we were informed that drinks will not be served for dine-in. There were only 4 tables for dine-in.
I ordered flat rice noodle (koay teow) with curry.
Hubby ordered pig stomach pepper soup with mixed noodle (yellow noodle with koay teow). In the bowl were pieces of pig stomach, a meat ball and a chicken foot.
We also ordered some of the fried stuffed ingredients for sharing. These were all freshly fried.
A heavy breakfast for 2 people.
After breakfast, we went home to make our own black coffee (kopi O).
During rainy season, lots of mushrooms are sprouting out.
These mushrooms were found by the roadside as we walked past.
~~~~~
Simple home cooked dinner for 2.
There was a packet of roast pork bones in the fridge. I bought some salted or pickled mustard green (hum choy) to make soup with the roast pork bones. Ingredients used: roast pork bones, hum choy, carrot, tomatoes and pickled sour plum.
This was our one dish dinner with steamed rice.
We love this soup very much.
Sometimes I will boil this soup with duck if duck is available.
My white bitter gourd plants growing in a pot in my garden.
Pursue peace with all people,
and the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God;
that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble,
and by it many become defiled;
Crispy Pork Curry Noodle & Crispy Pork, Meat Balls Macaroni
We thought it would rain but it didn't so we did our morning walk.
Sunrise at 7:05am.
Sunrise at 7:10am.
Sunrise at 7:15am.
Sunrise at 7:20am.
7:40am.
Even though it was cloudy, the day was hot and humid.
~~~~~
After morning walk, we drove out to town to buy breakfast. We went to 2 places and both were closed. Then we went to the 3rd place which is in the same vicinity which is known for it rice noodle or loh shi fun. But that morning, we didn't order loh shi fun.
Hubby ordered crispy pork and tofu puff dry curry noodle.
I ordered macaroni with crispy pork, pig stomach and meat balls.
According to hubby, it was flavourful and delicious.
The soup is very tasty and flavourful.
We haven't had these noodles for a long time and we enjoyed our breakfast very much.
~~~~~
For dinner, I couldn't think of what to cook. I felt like not cooking but in the end, I decided to cook something different.
My neighbour gave me 3 packets of bacon, I fried bacon, fried luncheon (Korean brand), fried 2 eggs and heat up the baked beans.
This was our dinner.
This is something which we usually eat for breakfast.
A mural painted by one of our local artists on the wall of a shop.
Linking to Monday Mural.
I call to you, God, because I'm sure of an answer.
So - answer! bend your ear! listen sharp!
Paint grace-graffiti on the fences;
take in your frightened children who are running
from the neighborhood bullies straight to you.
Pig Stomach Noodle, Fried Bacon, Pickled Veg & Rice Porridge
It was drizzling when we woke up on a Sunday morning. After the drizzling stopped, we walked out to our regular coffee shop for breakfast.
Morning sky after the drizzle about 7:30am
We shared this bowl of pig stomach soup with noodle.
Ingredients consist of rice vermicelli, pieces of pig stomach, daikon, a pair of chicken feet, and hot peppery soup. This soup is only available on Sunday.
We ordered 6 pieces of deep fried items from another stall. That morning we had unsweetened coffee (kopi C kosong).
Green eggplants in my garden.
~~~~~
I have not restocked the food supply yet because I wanted to clear whatever foodstuff I can find in the fridge or pantry. I found 2 items which will be good to go with rice porridge for dinner.
Fried bacon
Remaining home made pickled mustard green to cook with minced pork and chili.
Both were big portions, more than enough for 2 meals.
Simple home cooked dinner for 2 people.

"I want to make the simpleminded wise!" he said.
"I want to warn young men about some problems they will face.
I want those already wise to become wiser and become leaders
by exploring the depths of meaning in these nuggets of truth."
How does a man become wise?
The first step is to trust and reverence the Lord!
Only fools refuse to be taught. Listen to your father and mother.
What you learn from them will stand you in good stead;
it will gain you many honors.
(Proverbs 1:4-9, The Living Bible-TLB)
