Brunch At Texas Chicken Drive Through, Canning Garden, Ipoh.

Today (31st August), we are celebrating our nation's National Day. There is heavy traffic on the road and eateries are packed with people.
A friend passed by this area and send me this snapshot.
I can't remember where I took this snapshot.
Took this at one of the shopping mall.
 At the same shopping mall.

Last Sunday after church, we had our brunch at this newly opened Texas Chicken drive through place.
This is the 2nd outlet in Ipoh.
On the left is the drive through.
We ordered a set with 3 pieces chicken for hubby and I to share.
The set include a honey cheese biscuit and I ordered additional 3 pieces biscuits.
Took home the extra 2 pieces biscuits.
The set includes a coleslaw and free flow soft drink.
Found this insect in my garden.
It was resting on an eggplant leaf.

Linking to Saturday's Critters.

Christ has already entered there.
He is resting from his work, just as God did after the creation.
Let us do our best to go into that place of rest, too,
being careful not to disobey God as the children of Israel did,
thus failing to get in.

Feed the flock of God; care for it willingly, not grudgingly;
not for what you will get out of it but because you are eagar
to serve the Lord. Don't be tyrants,
but lead them by your good examples,
and when the Head Shepherd comes, your reward
will be a never-ending share in his glory and honor.

Local Fruits, Home Grown Chives & Home Cooked Dinner

These days, we try to start our morning walk early. Being early encourages us to walk more because the air is cooler and there will be less people using the walking path.
Another beautiful morning - 6:46 am
Morning sky in front of my house - 7:50 am.

The durian season is almost coming to an end.
It is time to enjoy other local fruits that are in season.
These are dokong, scientific name is Lansium domesticum. Underneath the skin, the translucent fruit is in segments. It is sweet and sourish. It is now selling at about 3 kilos for RM 10.
These are mangosteen, scientific name Garcinia mangostana. Underneath the thick skin is the white fruit in segments. It has a sweet sourish taste. I bought these at 1 kilo for RM 4.
These are seasonal fruits, usually only once or twice in a year.

I have 2 pots of chives growing in my garden.  A friend gave me the 1st pot. The chives in the 2nd pot was grown from seeds which I bought from the nursery.
Harvested the above from my garden to cook for dinner.
One thing I like about growing chives is that, after harvesting the chives, it will grow back again as long as I didn't uproot them.
Pan fried pork tenderloin slices pre-marinated with black pepper sauce.
Blanched chives and pan fried purple brinjals (eggplants).
Garnished with garlic oil and soy sauce & oyster sauce.
Our home cooked dinner for 2 people.
We finished the left over curry beef and kept some remaining pork slices.
The pork slices make good sandwiches for our lunch.

And God has reserved for his children the priceless gift of eternal life;
it is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled,
beyong the reach of change and decay.
And God, in his mighty power, will make sure that you get there
safely to receive it because you are trusting him.
It will be yours in that coming last day for all to see.

The Vintage Beetle Car

It was a Sunday morning and we had just finished breakfast in a coffee shop in Ipoh old town. We were on our way to church when I spotted a very unique car. I can see its engine!
I told hubby to slow down for me to take a snapshot of the car but instead, he stopped the car for us to go take a closer look. The owner was standing nearby and we asked his permission to take snapshots of his car. He was happy and willingly opened up the car for us.
 Rear engine
No more space for luggage in the front.
 Audio speakers.
The car looks brand new and in good condition.
 Interior of the car.
This is the owner of the car.
 So clean and neat.
 Sparkling clean engine
Another curious couple came to join us.
After a few snapshots, we quickly thanked the owner and went our way.
Further down the road, I took a few more snapshots of the following.
 Say cheese
 Deep in thought?
 A portrait on the wall
I need my morning cup of coffee.

We need have no fear of someone who loves us perfectly;
his perfect love for us eliminates all dread of what he might do to us.
If we are afraid, it is for fear of what he might to do to us and
shows that we are not fully convinced that he really loves us.
