Dinner At Restoran Sam Can Cook Seafood

There was no rain for about a week now and the weather is getting hot.

Sunrise at 7:20am - halfway through our morning walk.

I don't feel like eating noodle, so I ordered a bowl of minced meat dumplings or wantons in clear soup @ RM5.

For dinner, we went to Restoran Sam Can Cook Seafood. 

This restaurant has upgraded and have shifted to this new place at Laluan Perusahaan Menglembu 1, Kawasan Perusahaan Menglembu, Ipoh. We reached slightly after 6pm and the place was not croweded.

Chinese tea for 3 people. I ordered a glass of hot water.

We ordered the following dishes.

Brinjals with minced meat and salted fish in clay pot.

Sweet potato leaves in clay pot. I couldn't get a clear shot because it came piping hot.

Steamed Tilapia with savoury sauce. I took the fish without the spicy sauce.

After dinner, we attended a wake service.

This is the Euphorbia geroldii or Thornless Crown of Thorns plant in my front garden.

Dry Curry Noodle & Coffee On A Cold, Rainy Morning

We woke up to a cold, rainy morning. No morning walk, so we waited for the rain to stop.

8:00am

It was still raining over the hills.

Getting ready to go out for breakfast.

On this cold, rainy morning, we were thinking of dry curry noodle with coffee.

Unsweetened coffee with evaporated milk (kopi-C kosong).

We ordered 2 plates of dry curry noodles with bbq pork (char siew) and curry chicken.

Hubby had yellow noodle.

I prefer flat rice noodle (koay teow).

Avocado seedling waiting for my friend to collect to plant in her big garden.

For dinner with friends, we had the following dishes.

Venison with black pepper sauce.

Steamed Tilapia with special spicy sauce.

Sauteed sweet potato leaves with fu yee (fermented bean curd).

Total cost of dinner including rice and warm water = RM67 for 4 people.

Again, the Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by a fisherman -

he casts a net into the water and gathers in fish of every kind,

Dinner At Restoran WSF 33, Taman Hoover, Ipoh

This was the last Monday of June, last month. 

We set out on our morning walk at about 6:45am.

We finished our walk at about 7:45am.

I watered my plants and we got ready to go out for breakfast with our friends. 

We drove to Gopeng and had rice noodle (lai fun) for breakfast. After breakfast, we had durians at the roadside stall. I didn't take any photo of breakfast and the durians.

But I did take 2 photos of this building of a goldsmith shop.

What attracted me to this building is these designs on the front of the building. After our breakfast and having enjoyed some durians, we drove back to Ipoh and loiter (lepak) in Aeon Big Falim Shopping Mall, Ipoh.

There was a band and singer busking, playing and singing nice oldies.

Later we left for home and rested in our place until it was time for dinner.

Our friends suggested this place for dinner because we were looking forward to enjoy some Chinese fruit rojak after dinner.

Chicken and potato curry.

Steamed fish with savoury sauce.

4 dishes for 4 people.

 We were disappointed that the Chinese fruit rojak stall was closed and has shifted elsewhere but we don't know where.

Dinner At Restoran Makanan Laut Wong Kok, Ipoh

As we started out on our morning walk, I noticed that the sky was clear and the full moon was very bright.

This was at about 6:55am.

Friday is our dine-out day with friends.

One Friday, we went to Restoran Makanan Laut Wong Kok, Ipoh, which we haven't been to for a long time.

We ordered steamed Tilapia with savoury sauce aka as "cheong cheng".

The main ingredients used for the savoury sauce are bean paste (taucu), chopped garlic, shallots, ginger, oyster sauce, soy sauce, and sugar.

Sweet potato leaves sauteed with fermented bean curd (fu yee).

Deep fried soft tofu (sui tofu) and topped with pickled radish, crispy shallots and sauces.

Total cost of dinner for 4 people = RM93.40

(incl. 4 small portion rice and plain water).
