Dinner At Restoran Sam Can Cook Seafood

There was no rain for about a week now and the weather is getting hot.

Sunrise at 7:20am - halfway through our morning walk.
I don't feel like eating noodle, so I ordered a bowl of minced meat dumplings or wantons in clear soup @ RM5.
~~~~~
For dinner, we went to Restoran Sam Can Cook Seafood.
This restaurant has upgraded and have shifted to this new place at Laluan Perusahaan Menglembu 1, Kawasan Perusahaan Menglembu, Ipoh. We reached slightly after 6pm and the place was not croweded.
Chinese tea for 3 people. I ordered a glass of hot water.
We ordered the following dishes.
Brinjals with minced meat and salted fish in clay pot.
Sweet potato leaves in clay pot. I couldn't get a clear shot because it came piping hot.
Steamed Tilapia with savoury sauce. I took the fish without the spicy sauce.
Sorry for the blurry photo.
After dinner, we attended a wake service.
This is the Euphorbia geroldii or Thornless Crown of Thorns plant in my front garden.
A friend shared this photo of a herd of deer in Taiping zoo.
The lame man will leap up like a deer,
and those who could not speak will shout and sing!
Springs will burst forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert.
The parched ground will become a pool,
with springs of water in the thirsty land.
Where desert jackals lived, there will be reeds and rushers!
Bubur Cha Cha & Pork Rib Wan Ton Noodle
Our morning walk was cancelled because the sky was dark and looked like it was going to rain anytime.
Sunrise at 7:25am.
Dark cloud looming over us at 7:50am.
7:55am.
~~~~~
Breakfast at Restoran Memorable Good Taste.
This is where we will go whenever we want to enjoy a good wan tan noodle.
We both ordered bubur cha cha.
I really enjoyed this bowl of bubur cha cha.
It has sweet potato, yam, beans, sago, coconut milk and sugar.
These were brought to the table first: pickled green chilies, stewed sweet sour pork rib, sui kao+wan tan dumplings.
Homemade thin wan tan noodle.
On this particular morning, they use lettuce instead of choy sum.
This was our breakfast for 2 people.
Peace lilies from my garden.
An antique jukebox at a cafe.
It was lighted up so I assume that it is in good condition and can still play music.

Oh, for the years gone by when God took care of me,
when he lighted the way before me
and I walked safely through the darknes;

Braised Black Pomfret With Pickled Veggie & Stewed "Kow Chai" Duck

It was a nice cloudy morning for our early morning walk.

7:08am
That morning, I needed to go to the bank. So we drove out to town for breakfast at Restoran Memorable Good Taste.
We ordered 2 "usual" breakfast sets for us (as above).
We only need to mention "the usual" to the boss and he knows what we want.
1 portion of wonton noodle with the following accompaniments.
This wonton noodle is thinner than the usual wonton and the portion is small.
A bowl of soup with 5 pieces of wonton dumplings and 1 piece of sui kao (big dumpling).
A bowl of stewed savoury pork ribs about 4 to 5 pieces, depending on the size.
The generous lady boss gave each of us a bowl of pickled green chilies. This seldom happens at most wanton noodle stalls.
This breakfast costs us between RM12 to RM13 for 2 people.
We pass by here on our morning walk on most mornings.
~~~~~
Our dine-out evening with friends at Restoran Wong Sheng, Ipoh.
Blanched pak choy with slices of canned bailing mushroom.
Stewed duck or "kao chai" duck.
"Kao chai" means puppy in Cantonese. It is just a name given to the dish.
Fried black pomfret topped with pickled vegetables, meat slices, tofu, tomatoes, and etc. It was a nice and satisfying dinner for 4 of us. Dinner including rice and hot water for Chinese tea = RM106.
A mural of a bull pulling a cart.
I found this mural on the wall of a school in Tanjung Tualang, Perak when we were there for a seafood lunch and a short visit.
Linking to Monday Mural.
The Lord is my fort where I can enter and be safe;
no one can follow me in and slay me.
H is a rugged mountain where I hid; he is my Savior,
a rock where none can reach me, and a tower of safety.
H is my shield. He is like the strong horn of a mighty fighting bull.
Stewed Beef Noodle & Char Siew Wonton Noodle At XiBei Good, Ipoh
On this particular morning, the full moon was shining brightly.
Full moon at 6:45am.
This is the best I can get with my mobile phone camera. After morning walk, we drove to town for breakfast and then to the bank.
Unsweetened black coffee (RM2.10) for hubby and unsweetened coffee with evaporated milk (RM2.50) for me.
Pickled green chili to go with the noodles.
I ordered wonton noodle (dry version) with char siew (bbq pork) with prawn dumplings (wonton) - RM10.00
The noodle came with crispy fried lard, minced meat and green vegetable.
3 big prawn dumplings in clear soup. Every wonton has a big prawn in it.
Hubby ordered stewed beef noodle (dry version) - RM11.50
The noodle came with stewed beef with white radish, crispy fried lard and green vegetable.
This is our 2nd visit to this eatery. Our first visit was end of last year (2021). This place is known as XiBei Good or Redefine Wonton Noodle (as on the signboard).
Saw this colourful display at one of the opposite shops.
It is a shop selling paints.
We happened to park our car in front of this paint shop
If anyone says "I love God," but keeps on hating his brother, he is a liar;
for if he doesn't love his brother who is right there in front of him,
how can he love God whom he has never seen?
And God himself has said that
one must love not only God but his brother too.
Polo Bun Sandwich And Wonton Noodle
This was the 2nd day I hurt my back while gardening.
No morning walk but I can still sweep the floor and water the plants.
Sunrise at 6:50am.
Hubby went out to the nearby shop for his breakfast and I stayed home. I asked him to get for me a polo bun sandwich for my breakfast.
Home made milo and polo bun sandwich.
The polo bun has a piece of ham and an egg.
~~~~~
Tomato plants from my garden.
One plant has started to flower.
Another one has buds.
~~~~~
Pre-CNY gifts from friends and neighbour.
Hubby's friend came from Sitiawan and gave us this box of Tambun biscuits from Penang.
A friend made glutinous rice cake (nian gao) and gave us 2.
We received the above from our neighbour: A box of mandarin oranges, a can of abalone and a pactket of Chinese sausages.
~~~~~
No cooking that evening, so we eat out.
We had wonton noodle in Buntong village. We have been patronizing this place for 30 over years.
We ordered 2 plates of wonton noodle (dry version) with pork strips, gravy and fat beansprouts.
2 bowls of minced pork wonton dumplings with extra dumplings.
An antique motorcycle at the Gopeng museum.
Took this snapshot when we last visited in 2015.

Charm can be deceptive and beauty doesn't last
but a woman who fears and reverences God shall be greatly praised.
