After having tasted the food at this riverside village eatery at the end of Jalan Queen with our friend (you can click here for the post), we wanted to go back to try other varieties. Our friends couldn't make it so it was just only hubby and I.

New Tires For My Proton Wira
It was a Sunday morning. Got up early to prepare for church. We have been attending online church since the 2nd lockdown and this will be our first physical church after many months.
Morning sky at 7:18am.
Church starts at 8:45am. We had plenty of time for breakfast in town.
Advent candles and altar flowers.
It was 3rd Advent Sunday.
On Monday, had the plant nursery sent these 2 pomelo plants to my sister-in-law who is staying in another state. This is my first time sending live plants through delivery service provider. Everything will be taken care of by the plant nursery including wrapping, packing and sending of the plants.
When my sister-in-law received the plants the next day, she took a snapshot to send to me to show that the plants have arrived in good condition.
There was a small crack in one of the back tires of my car and it was time to get new tires. Amazingly I have been using the tires for about 12 years. Since my retirement, I only drive this car short distance and I hardly get to use it during this pandemic.
While waiting for the tires to be fixed, I took this snapshot of these on the wall. The 2 front tires are still quite new and in good condition, so they were moved to the back. The 2 new tires went to the front. With a brand new car battery (got one last week) and 2 new tires, I am now poorer by a few hundred RM. Sigh...

What was for dinner?
The remaining portion of pork leg in black vinegar.
The last 2 white bitter gourds and some chive buds from my garden with carrot, sauteed with garlic and preserved black beans.
It was a wonderful and satisfying dinner with steamed rice on a cool, rainy evening.
No matter what happens, always be thankful,
for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

Pork Leg In Black Vinegar
The night before, I was digging into the freezer to see what I can cook for dinner. Found a pork leg and let it thaw in the lower shelf of the fridge.
Since I haven't cooked pork leg in black vinegar for a long time, I will be cooking this dish for dinner.
Our day started at 7:08am with our morning walk.
Reflection of the sunrise.
Murals on the wall around the Chinese school.
Back home in my garden, I harvested the above. Will be cooking the green brinjals for dinner and the cucumber will be eaten raw as salad.
~~~~~
Home cooked dinner.
Blanched the newly harvested green brinjals plus some long beans and okra and drizzled with garlic oil, oyster and soy sauce.
The pork leg was given by my neighbour and I used it to cook black vinegar pork leg. Ingredients used: pork leg, old and young ginger slices, black wood fungus, black beans, and a bottle of black vinegar. I used the ready mixed black vinegar from Kilang Kicap Kwong Ban Woh from Penang. Water added depends on individual's preference. I used slightly more than 1 bottle of water to 1 bottle of black vinegar. I used a pressure cooker to cook this dish which is fast and easy.
This was our dinner with steamed rice.
I blessed our neighbour with a big portion of the pork leg in black vinegar in return for her pork leg.
Evening sky at 7:30pm, with the street lighted up.
Mee Jawa, Wonton Noodle, Stuffed Okras, Brinjals & Tofu Puffs.
This was last Thursday, the day we celebrated Malaysia Day. The day started with clear blue sky and some white fluffy clouds.
7:17am - view of Kledang Hill.
7:30am
7:38am - sunrise partially blocked by clouds.
~~~~~
We went out to town to buy breakfast.
Mee jawa for hubby.
With a piece of crispy cracker.
Wonton noodle with chicken meat for me.
Wonton noodle with chicken meat and mushroom gravy.
Added 4 pieces of sui kao dumplings for sharing.
~~~~~
From my garden.
Green brinjals
Long green okras or ladies fingers.
~~~~~
Home cooked dinner
Home made stuffed green brinjals.
Ingredients for stuffing: minced meat, fish paste, 1 egg, some oyster sauce and cornflour. I use Chinese chives instead of spring onions since I have some chives in the fridge.
The tofu puffs are store bought.
I passed some over the concrete wall to my neighbour.
This is one of the best dipping sauce for the stuffed items.
My neighbour blessed us with this black vinegar pork trotter.
No rice for me but I steamed a small portion of rice for hubby.
We kept half of the stuffed items for the next day.
The day ended with this sunset.

Black Vinegar Pork Trotter, Sambal Stinky Bean & Fried Fish
On this particular morning, there was no sunrise to greet me when we started out on our morning walk.
The birds were early - 7:05am.
I managed to capture some flying over me.
Overcast sky - 8:30am.
I was bored with noodles, so I cooked oat porridge for myself.
I added 2 long ladies fingers into the porridge.
Then I sprinkled some dried shrimp chili onto the oat porridge.
I like this dried shrimp chili.
White frangipani by the roadside near my house.
~~~~~
Dinner
Fried fish, 2 slices.
Home grown angled luffa cooked with garlic, ginger strips, dried shrimps and egg.
Even though our neighbour don't eat stinky beans, they bought some for us when they went out to buy dinner for themselves.
Someone very happy because sambal stinky beans and black vinegar are his favourites.
