We woke up early and were ready for our morning walk early.

We drove to Kedai Kopi Xin Tai You at Jalan Sri Adika for breakfast.
We haven't been there for a long, long time. We were one of the early customers that morning.
Shredded chicken (no prawn) noodle flat rice noodle (kai si hor fun) for me.
Ordered a small plate of braised large intestine.
This was for hubby.
Pig stomach, radish & pepper soup noodle for hubby.
Peace Lilies in my garden.
Beautiful pure white lilies.
Hubby went out to meet his friends and came back with the above deep fried nian gao. It is sticky glutinous cake sandwiched with sweet potato and taro, dipped in batter and deep fried. It is nice to eat while it is still hot. When you take a bite, the sticky glutinous cake will ooze out. Next time, I hope to remember to take a picture to show the cross section.
I was trying to take a nap in the afternoon when I was disturbed by some loud noise outside my house. I looked out and saw that there was some kind of work being carried out to clear water drainage blockages in our area.

Those jobs must be a pain. People "hate" you and you have to take the loud noises.
Bring some lemon juice or such? They do their best after all...

Yes, these days it is better to be early to avoid the crowd.
DeleteI wish we had kai si hor fun here, will have to go to Pappa Rich or Nam Heong Ipoh but not cheap at these places. I love all those innards but here, we get the pig's intestines only, usually...and the liver.

ReplyDeleteWe request for small portion for the intestine. For the noodle, its because the koay teow tend to stick tog and hidden in the soup.
