On this particular Sunday, we went to one of our regular coffee shop for breakfast.
We ordered shredded chicken noodle (kai si hor fun).
Without prawns is RM5, with prawns is RM5.50.
We can now enjoy delicious kai si hor fun without having to drive out to town.

Home cooked dinner for 2.
I need to clear some extra minced meat already thawed in the fridge and I wanted to also clear 2 frozen black pomfret so that I can stock up some fresh ones.
Home grown green brinjals (eggplants) sauteed with garlic and minced meat.
Steamed black pomfret with chopped garlic, pickled radish (choy poh) and chili. Seasoned with oyster sauce, salt and sugar. Squeezed some lime juice over the steamed fish before serving. We enjoyed the overload topping.

This is near to the restaurant which is famous for serving frozen beer.

Actually the beer is not frozen hard. It has a special name in Chinese and is very popular for beer drinkers.

Thanks for sharing that Bentong ginger can be successfully grown in pots and bags. The pomfrets look tasty too. Long time I didn't eat whole steamed fish.
ReplyDeleteThis kai si hor fun is in Kopitiam Huan Le. I won't be giving you the address because the kopitiam will be shifting to a new location by end of this year. The new location is not confirmed yet.

DeleteKai si hor fun looks good! I've had steamed black pomfret once, nice also but not so used to it. Usually we steam the white pomfret. The lady at my fish stall will tell me the variety of black pomfret suitable for steaming but still, we will just deep fry. Old habits die hard.
