A Surprise Gift From An Unknown Person

Glad that we could go for our walking exercise on this particular morning. We have been skipping morning walk because it has been raining or drizzling most mornings.

I am sharing this morning sky from June, 2022.
These days, most of the morning sky are gloomy.
Garlic vine flowers by the roadside on our morning walk.
~~~~~
We had breakfast at Restoran Double Three, Menglembu new township.
Hubby ordered dry curry noodle with 2 fried dumplings and...
3 pieces of fried fish cakes in clear soup.
I ordered toast with butter and kaya.
Breakfast for 2 people.
~~~~~
Later in the morning, I received a call from an unlisted caller. It was from a florist making a delivery and was waiting outside our house. Hubby went out to attend to the person.
A few minutes later, hubby came into the house with the above. We checked the card and instead of a name, it was written as "Guess ???". Who could it be? It took a while for hubby to guess. The sender is a friend who has settled down overseas and wanted to spring a surprise on us. Thank you, friend for your lovely gift.
~~~~~
We had a lunch appointment with a friend who was back from Kuala Lumpur for a 2 weeks holidays. We went to a food court near her house.
I ordered a pot of briyani rice to share with hubby.
~~~~~
After a heavy lunch, we only wanted something light for dinner.
Hubby and I shared this big plate of blanched beansprouts with scrambled eggs, drizzled with garlic oil, oyster and soy sauce.

it will grip their lives too,
as they see the wealth of good things in you
that come from Christ Jesus.

Turmeric Rice + Chicken Curry, Prawn Noodle & Toast With Butter+Kaya

Looking through the folder on my desktop, I found some nice sunrise photos. They were taken in August this year.

#1 taken at 6:55am, August 2022.
#2 taken at 7:35am, August 2022.
#3 taken at 7:10am, November 2022.
We are now in the midst of the monsoon season bringing lots of rain, even causing flood in certain areas, causing much suffering to the people and damage to properties.
~~~~~
After our morning walk, we drove to Restoran Meng Meng Kee, at  Kawasan Perindustrian Bandar Baru, Menglembu for breakfast.
Hubby ordered turmeric glutinous rice (nasi kunyit) with chicken curry.
I ordered prawn noodle.
A set of toast for sharing.
We requested for the butter and kaya to be served separately.
~~~~~
We will be going out to cast our votes tomorrow (19th Nov, Saturday). Today and tomorrow has been declared public holidays to encourage those eligible to turn up to vote. There was heavy traffic on the highway. The journey from KL to Ipoh took more than 4 hours for those who chose to travel home this morning.
Political parties' flags, posters and banners can be seen at some locations. This round, there is less flags compared to previous general elections. Tomorrow evening, most of us will be staying home, glued to the television or radio or etc. for the GE15 results.

But you have given us a banner to rally to;
all who love truth will rally to it;
then you can deliver your beloved people.
Use your strong right arm to rescue us.

For we know that when this tent we live in now is taken down -
when we die and leave these bodies -
we will have wonderful new bodies in heaven,
homes that will be ours forevermore,
made for us by God himself and not by human hands.

Coffee + Snacks At People's Park Chang Jiang White Coffee, Ipoh

After visiting the Tasek Cermin or Mirror Lake (here), we wanted some refreshment. A few places were mentioned and one of them is People's Park Chang Jiang, which our friends haven't been to. So, we drove to Ipoh old town.

The ladies ordered honey lemon.
Someone ordered unsweetened coffee-C with ice.
The glass jug came with the evaporated milk and ice cubes.
Another ordered unsweetened black coffee with ice.
A friend pouring the coffee into the jug.
We forgot to snap photo of the toast and 2 types of fried snacks that we ordered.
An old fashioned table lamp near us.
Traditional coffee/tea cloth filters.
Traditional metal door knockers used as drawer holders/pullers.
I like this traditional water jar.
An old fashioned dail phone.
Coffee tin with coffee/tea cup and saucer.
You can get free coffee/tea tasting and after that make your purchase.
As we were walking to our car, we passed by this cute kitty car.

For you have a new life.
It was not passed on to you from your parents,
for the life they gave you will fade away.
This new one will last forever, for it comes from Christ,
God's ever-living Message to men.

Lunch At Dong Tai Kopitiam,

We managed to get 4 ex-colleagues (retirees) together for lunch.

We went in one car and I was the driver for that day.
We were supposed to have Western lunch but found the place closed. Then someone suggested another place, found that place closed too but we found one kopitiam just opposite which was open.
Dong Tai Kopitiam
46 (Grd Flr) Jalan Foo Eng Lin, Jalan Pasir Puteh, Ipoh.
There is free parking available in front of the kopitiam. We were just in time to get a table for 4 people. Those that came after us have to wait to be seated because it was peak lunch hour.
Iced coffee O for a coffee lover. No, not me.
Milo
Ginkgo and barley sweet drink - 2 bowls.
Not too sweet, just nice for us.
We ordered 5 types of food for sharing.
Salted fish fried bihun.
Homemade dry noodle with fried pork lard.
Nasi Kukus Ayam Berempah.
Steamed rice + fried chicken with spices.
Kaya + butter toast
Nyonya kuih - you will have to pick your choices at the counter.
Total cost for all the above food is RM63.
Thanks ladies. Looking forward to our next food outing.

No, dear brothers, I am still not all I should be,
but I am bringing all my energies to bear on this one thing:
Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead,
I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize
for which God is calling us up to heaven
because of what Christ Jesus did for us.

Hubby ordered steamed flat rice noodle (chee cheong fun).
Hubby ordered chicken drumstick, half a potato and curry gravy. Pickled green chilies and chili sauce served on the side.
We shared the toast and the chee cheong fun. We each had a cup of unsweetened coffee.

The following photos were taken at the Hawayi Ice, Teluk Intan when we were there for some iced dessert about a month ago. There is a display corner for these antiques.

Cockscomb flowers from my front garden.
Some are big and some are small.
Different shades of red.

Come, let's talk this over, says the Lord;
no matter how deep the stain of your sins,
I can take it out and make you as clean as freshly fallen snow.
Even if you are stained as red as crimson,
I can make you white as wool!
