A morning without any sign of sunrise. We started our walk at about 7am.
Facing west, the Kledang Hill.
Gloomy sky.

Chinese art mural on the concrete wall of a Chinese school.
I sought my neighbour's help with the Chinese character.
The Chinese character means Sincere.
This one means filial.
On the way back, we stopped to buy fried noodle and pig's skin+long bean curry.
Economy fried noodle + curry + milo for hubby.
I picked and ate the long beans in the curry.
Toast + apricot jam + black coffee for me.
Midday sky at 12:50pm.
A friend came to pass me a tub of turmeric+coconut oil rice.
And a small tub of fruit pickle or acar buah in Malay.
It so happened that my neighbour bought 2 stuffed fish for us.
Heated up leftover steamed sour plum sauce pork rib.
Delicious and filling lunch for 2 people.
~~~~~
The friend who sent me the turmeric rice and fruit pickle forwarded the following photos from her garden.
Is this a Bromeliad/Guzmania?
Hope someone can help to identify this plant.
No rice for dinner since we had taken rice for lunch. Instead we had noodle.
Black chicken herbal soup with noodle.
Ending this post with an evening sky at 7:48pm.
But the good man - what a different story!
For the good man - the blameless, the upright,
the man of peace - he has a wonderful future ahead of him.
For him there is a happy ending.
The fish looks so good. Hah!!! Black chicken! Extra nutritious! The only time I eat that is at some grand Chinese banquet, never cook it ourselves. You eat it with mee sua in the soup too? Just like we Foochows?
ReplyDeleteBlack chicken is rarely available. I happened to see the roadside stall selling chickens and this was the only black chicken left. Yes, I love mee sua. I was brought up in Sitiawan where I learned to love mee sua.
DeleteI love pork skin! Have never thought of using it in curry though. Looks seriously yummy!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Angie.
DeleteI love pork skins in curry. Black chicken herbal soup, very nutritious and healthy dinner. The green vegetables for the dinner look good too.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Libby.
DeleteOh sumptuous food. So many items I like in this post.
ReplyDeleteThe black chicken is to be eaten too? You buy black chicken for health reasons or what? Sorry for weird questions hehe. Think I had this once during my confinement.
Actually, I have no particular reason for buying the black chicken. We rarely get to see black chicken sold in my area, so when I saw one, I quickly bought it. Naturally for me, black chicken means for boiling herbal soup. The herbs used are not the heaty type.
DeleteThe flower from your friends garden is a delight, so beautiful. All the food looks scrumptious, you always eat so well.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mamas.
DeleteToo bad no black chicken in my area.... good to replenish health after vaccination!
ReplyDeleteThis is the one and only black chicken among the normal chickens. Very seldom get to see black chicken even in my area.
DeleteYou certainly have a very kind neighbour, Nancy.
ReplyDeleteThank you, David.
DeleteCome to think of it, I have never eaten black chicken before.
ReplyDeleteIt taste like normal chicken. The only difference is the black skin and slightly dark meat.
Delete...it looks like a Bromeliad to me!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tom for helping to identify the plant.
DeleteHummm já comia.
ReplyDeleteUm abraço e bom fim-de-semana.
DeleteMy hubby just mentioned to me to buy black chicken this morning!! Haha. Long time did not buy to cook herbal soup.
ReplyDeletePig's skin in curry? Never had that before.
After this, don't know when will get to buy black chicken. Will have to wait till I see someone selling the black chicken.
DeleteThe Choinese style mural is very beautiful! Bon appetit.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Riitta.
DeleteYes it is a bromeliad, either Aechmea Zebrina or Aechmea Chantinii. I sometimes eat curry pork skin with ccf but no long bean. You don't eat pork skin?
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mun for the plant id. I am not a fan of pork skin.
DeleteDelicious and love all the beautiful sky and flower shots, and the mural too!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Martha.
DeleteYou are still eating well and getting your exercise. Kudos to you!! Great sky shots.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!!
Thank you, Yogi. Have a great weekend too.
DeleteBeautiful flowers and beautiful food. I've got another 35 minutes before we have breakfast. As always you made my stomach growl.
DeleteLindo mural , me gustaron tus planta. Me dio ganas de comer pollo negro. Te mando un beso
ReplyDeleteThank you, JP.
DeleteYummy food you make and get from neighbors. How kind of them to do that. We had one day when there were clouds that covered the blue sky. Later it was more blue sky. I was hoping it would rain as we need it now! It's been warm and dry. The paintings on the concrete looks so nice! Take care and have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteWe too need rain. We are in a heat wave. Take care and have a wonderful weekend.
DeleteMidday sky it's getting clearer and the night sky is pretty.
ReplyDeleteNever seen a black chicken - the fish looks nice but without the head for me :)
Thank you, Margaret.
DeleteBeautiful skies and amazing Chinese mural!
