Last Thursday, after our early morning walk we met up with our friends for breakfast. Few days earlier we were talking about Hakka tofu and our friends suggested going to this place in Menglembu which is very popular with the local residents.
It was quite early about 8.40 am when we reached this place and it was filled with customers. There was only one small table available and it was better than none and we settle for it before someone else did. Anyway it was enough for 4 people.
My friend ordered for 4 of us and we had to wait for our turn. I noticed that customers kept coming and filling up every empty table.
Hakka tofu is good, but not as good as the Jelapang tofu.
There are 3 types of fried stuffed fish items.
The best hot selling item is the round one, deep fried yam bean cubes wrapped with bean sheet. These are freshly deep fried next to the stall and the customers just pick them up. The next best hot item is the long bean sheet roll with fish paste. I have to agree that these two items are very good and tasty.
These cooks must be kept very busy with the popularity of the restaurant. If I ever went there I would need help as I have no idea what anything is :-) Happy Mother's Day to you!
